Tilted left, feigning balance
This app pertains to be neutral or at any rate provide access to opposing viewpoints. It does this, but its default position is left , literally.
As you scroll, you’ll notice each story has a number of publications that you are free to read. The options are either left., center, or right. The default option is always left… if this was truly an unbiased platform it would not have its default story options left leaning.
As I’m sure Ground News knows, ppl scroll reading headlines quickly without delving too deeply into the stories themselves. This exposes more people, by default, to left viewing wing views and does not provide balance to the user.

Awesome! Opened my eyes!
I love this app and the daily mail alerts I signed up for. I you want to be informed but worry you are getting biased news, this is what you want.
I love that I can read a summary of the event/issue and then select red/blue right/center/left reports and read what they actually said . I can read and decide for myself.

Now I Understand!!
I always knew most media is delivered with a bias, but Ground News has shown me how rare it is for the “other side” to even hear the important stories from home and around the world. Everyone needs to be reading the truth and GN delivers!
NOT unbiased themselves
Yes, they provide alternate news sources for each story. But they call left wing attack dogs “center” and “highly factual”, while calling right wing sites “highly unfactual”.
This is just another “fact checker” that confirms the lies you’re being told. DELETED the app!

A Bias Against Fact Checking
Ground News often seeks the middle gound between reality and dishonesty. What’s the virtue in that?
Call themself center, leaning left constantly
Not centered, I wanted independent news sources, constantly left leaning. Fake like others, but maybe a tiny bit less fake for now. I’m not buying their independent claims. Had enough of them, bias as cnn fox etc
Good Experience
I like the transparency. You can see different sides of a story…what side the story is pitching to —or is it fairly middle of the road news? I’ve recently become aware there are sections for less politics and more upbeat stories as well. I’m still exploring. What I DO know from contacting them is there are real, responsive, competent, human beings behind the scenes. Customer service is like actual “service” delivered by an actual person with a very good brain. This alone makes this app/company stand out in my mind. It’s rare. It’s impressive. I think 🤔 it deserves some recognition. Look for special offers on price.

Perfect, except price
You’re telling me that the goal of this service is to show the truth and not be bias about sources but then they force you into a seven day free trial and then it’s paid after that it’s pretty obvious that they have good intent, but missed the purpose of the app. I’d much rather spend hours. Researching the topic from other sources that are free than waste my money on this.

Critical and worth it
I love this app because if it’s comprehensive view of the news and it’s ranking of the bias in any reporting. This is so important now while we have Olgas and algorithms manipulating the news. Want to know about what’s happening get this app plus you’re supporting a female creator.
Right idea; needs more resources
This app has the right idea: cultivate balanced reporting and highlight the blind spots in media reporting. Unfortunately, it needs better underlying resources since it relies on smaller, obscure media outlets, most of them reporting the same wire feeds.

why can I not find any information about the UN assembly walkout? That’s very heartening news for some of us and yet it hasn’t been picked up by you guys at all. I wanna know why.
Yet another letdown
Started as a reliable source of news and then went all in on Israel.
Not have variable speed text to speech is ridiculous
Paying for an app where you gotta read the news instead of listen when radio has existed forever is ridiculous lol
Malware advertising
They utilize ads that take over your phone and will not allow you to return to your previous application.
Some other HIJACK ADA will return control to you when you go to the Apple Applications screen. Theory force you to download the ad. At least I thought that was the worst. I suspect I had to agree to a free trial and sign up for a subscription. I had been forced there. I will try full reboot or even uninstall the other app and reinstall.
Apple protects us from Apps that are malware, but also needs to identify the companies that force you to download the software.

ETA: after a response from the developer explaining that it’s a limitation with NYT’s data and not an editorial decision on their end, I’m moving this up to 5 stars and I’m a happy subscriber.

Ground News Aggregator
This app paywalls access to links to other already-paywalled services. They enforce their own bias by limiting access to those links for those who can’t afford to pay them to help scorch the Earth with their data center usage. All while disguising other actual news agencies’ reporting as their own product as if their summaries were reporting. Better off using an RSS feed or other free news aggregator instead of paying twice just to have sloppy AI summaries (which are inherently a repackaging of original publishers’ content, diminishing viewers on those actual publishers’ sites) and biased reports on others’ biases overlaid on your feed, even if from a third-party company (whose biases align with their own).

Balanced news at last
With the BBC completely off the rails with bias, and The Times reduced to a tabloid, it’s tough finding unbiased news. Ground News solves that by showing the political bias of each source rather than pretending it doesn’t exist. Great app. Thank you, developers.
Good app, glitchy interface
The main issue is that a side bar constantly pops out when navigating back a page, this rearranging the order of news articles out of order. Also, the lack of dark screen capability has forced me to find another app to use at night. This app could be so great, but it’s not for these reasons.
