Amazing Study Tool

I have tried many other methods to prepare for the INRAT exam but I have to say that the INRAT Theory app by Dauntless is one of the best ways to prepare.

When you get a wrong answer it gives you the description and knowledge required to correct that error and learn at the same time.

Amazing app!

Lack of compatibility

After spending $70 for an app you expect to be able to use it on the Apple environment devices since it has a list of compatibility, however I can’t download it on my MacBook… so should I pay another $70 for the exact same thing just to be able to study on my MacBook?

Great resource

Questions are very similar to what you’ll see on the INRAT. Did questions and reviewed the ones I got wrong and ended up passing with a 98.

Incredible!!

Passed my INRAT because of this App!!
Thanks to the team that created this, this app is worth way more than it costs!!

There are a lot of technical issues with this app

I am not sure who rated for 5 stars this app, may be relatives of the owners or developers but it is may be of the worst mobile app that I used for years.

This application is frozen for first 3-5 minutes once it is launched, there is a looping icon. Updating the databases of this app is big challenge. I have fiber Internet connection with huge bandwidth. Updating the databases of this app takes a long time, sometimes it corrupted with error message that a path on my device is broken. So the integrity and updating of the databases is big problem. This app is on the market since 2011 and I am surprised why it still has so low level of application maturity. The app is overpriced for this level of software maturity.

December 24 update: I have tried to update the databases on my iPad from server but it was 3 times timed out. Even when the records are updated, there are a lot of mismatches between the questions and answers (questions don’t have any correct answers). Sometimes you can see all 4 answers are correct.

Fantastic

I stress the importance that this app not be your only form of study but with this app and reading through the material it is a great way to prepare for your exam.

I recommend this app to all my students its a great help for studying.

There are some errors but so is the nature of the beast when it comes to practice questions. Every program I have tried or books I have found all had some forms of errors in them including FTGU, Nizus, Sharper edge ect.

If you have a doubt about a certain fact do yourself a favor and research it. Again this should not be your only source for studying but using this app will help a lot.

Horrible Quality and Service

I found many errors in the answers and when I raised it with the help desk received very late, rude and unprofessional responses. The errors are still there. Don’t waste your money and time.

Got 80% on my exam using this app!

With this app and transport Canada study and reference guide you shouldn't have any problem passing the exam.

Little advice use the question stack option so you don't lose time with question you already know.

Ps: similar app for ATPL would be perfect :-)

Wrote the INRAT last week

Extremely complete app. Got 84%. The app, when really reading everything and using all illustrations and maps is highly complete!!

Thanks for this amazing app

Fantastic software for prepping for the Inrat exam

As most pilots have done in Canada, I enrolled in harvs air for the ifr online ground school. Harvs is fantastic for learning the material required for real life Ifr flying and is a good resource however doesn't always focus you enough for the actual exam.

The Dauntless software Inrat app fills this gap, it is a fantastic piece of software and tests you very similarly to the way the real exam does.

I wrote this morning and was told that the exam I wrote was the hardest one they have and most pilots fail that particular exam, I passed with a 84%.

I know I couldn't have done it with out this app, a must have!

Thanks dauntless now please make us an ATPL app!

Very happy

INRAT Must Get App!

Really awesome App if you are studying and prepping for your INRAT exam (Transport Canada). One thing I really like about it, is the QUICK support reply. They will explain in detail why that question you thought it was correct is wrong if in doubt. However alike other users, please put more references ie. AIM CARs CFS etc. Otherwise this is an Great App!

Happy that it's finally over :)
Wishing "Dauntless Software" also made ATPL / IATRA ground school App, I would purchase it instantaneously!

Such a great INRAT study aid

I usually self study for the exams. Using the iPad app instead of a book has been great for the Inrat. Everything is thoughtfully laid out and will show references after every question (if you want). Wrote the test last week with high marks. Thank you so much Dauntless. PLEASE MAKE A (CANADIAN) ATPL PREP!

Great exam prep software

I used this software for a couple of months in advance of writing the exam. These questions provide a realistic way to study for the real thing.

I also used conventional textbook based questions to study from, but found this software much more effective at preparing for the exam as it provides a detailed explanation immediately after answering each question.

I scored a 90% on my first sitting of the INRAT - wohoo!

Instrument Study Buddy

I recently wrote my INRAT with 84% and couldn't have done it without this app. Worth every penny !

Good application

Good application for inrat written

But with new update 183 questions are missing, it shows only 757 questions out of 940

Really screwed me over

The most recent update has broken all questions which had figures (CAP pages, LO chart diagrams etc), and this is the day before my scheduled INRAT exam! As a result I can't prepare for the exam and this app has become useless to me. Dauntless has really managed to mess this one up for me.

Must Have

I had not flown in 7 years and my ATPL had expired. I used this app to prepare for re-writing the INRAT. I found that the app itself and the way that it displayed maps, charts and required images was amazing. Having it on my phone and ipad meant that I could study on the go or run through a couple of questions at a time. I was getting 78-80 percent on this app. When I wrote last week I got 88%!!!!

I wrote in the pacific Boundry and there were no questions on the Coomercial ops approach ban, so it was good to learn but not required in my area. Not sure if other areas quiz commercial ops approach bans or not.

In addition I did some ground school at PRO IFR at Boundry Bay... I can't say enough about those guys, John and Ben were my instructors. Very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. They were amazing and combined with the practice questions in this app... The only way to go.

About the app

Like the app, but it doesnt have any LO charts or approach charts like foreflight.....Still a great learning aid

Another great study tool

I used the Dauntless apps for FAA IFR, CPL, and for my Transport Canada exams (PPL and IFR). I just scored a 97% on my FAA CPL exam. All my scores were high.

I went through all the questions once, then turned on stacks with level 4 and 5 off. Then I turned on level 4 and went through them all again. By the time you've done that, at 20-50 questions per session, you are ready. I've passed every test on the first try very easily.

Out of 100 questions on the FAA CPL, the only surprise was the lack of density altitude chart. I only missed 3 questions.

The only issues I've had (with Safelog, not GroundSchool) were solved quickly via email.

They didn't have a Transport Canada CPL, so I just used the PPL mixed with Harv's Air online ground school. For INRAT, Dauntless GroundSchool was the only prep tool I used.

Now on to the ATP exam!

Dauntless Software apps are well written, frequently updated, user-friendly, thoroughly researched, and include great support.

Two options are missing which I hope they add later: 1) option to reset stack level on all questions, 2) option to filter out questions with graphics or calls for deep calculations (allows rapid study waiting in line or on smaller iOS device. Regardless, tool is great.

Nice app

Would like to see a few more x-country related questions (ie. total fuel required given flight plan, etc...).
