In app notification setting toggle not working
Why do you guys have a toggle for like notifications within your app settings if you won’t allow it to be toggled off? I toggle it off but it automatically turns back on.
Clunky Inferface
Unfortunate that this app has already become mainstream. The interface is very lacking compared to other social apps like WhatsApp, telegram, discord, etc. There are bugs in notifications where when I mute a chat I then receive no notifications at all.
Get with the times and update!

Does not accept Puerto rican phone number.
Despite being a US territory with +1 phone number, the app says “country not supported” whenever I try to put my phone number in. Not inclusive and made by imbeciles.

Why is that notifications do not sync across devices? I read my messages in my iphone and my ipad still shows a red dot with 10 messages unread. Not true, they have been read. This is not good.
I keep getting added to scam groups
I’m in a campus with 1000 people. Why are people allowed to force me into groups without my permission? I am getting added to a scam group every single day.
iPhone users beware
I am an iPhone user and have loaded many apps with no issue until GroupMe. I can download it but cannot join the group that my travel group created. It is totally frustrating!!!!!!!
Full of scammers
Doesn’t matter how many times we try, our group chats are constantly joined by scammers who text around the clock about alleged things they’re selling. There’s no peace and no solution if you’re a club that wants to keep your membership public. GroupMe has no options besides locking the chat down.
Horrible ipad support
It's astounding to me that a communications app in 2026 doesn't fully support ipadOS; it's not that hard to make windows resizeable and improves the usability by about 500%, but I basically can't use groupme on my ipad because I don't want to leave everything full screen.
Wrongfully Banned
No explanation after contacting support 7 times. Was advised I could remake my account after 30 days and I have still not been allowed to remake my account.
Error messages
Multiple error messages, when I get to the verification pin I get another error message but, then it says pin verified, logging on and it just spins for ever and doesn’t log in, worthless.
Tech support
I can’t sign up cause the app doesn’t recognize my area code to receive a text code. And there’s no one to call to help me join. Bad review
So many scams
I use this app for clubs, social group chats, and other university organizations and get so many scammers. Scam and spam accounts are able to somehow get in to groups and send personal messages. I think it is something that needs to be looked in to because this has been a problem for me and many others for a long time now.

Increasingly glitchy
I have used GroupMe for several clubs over the years, but have recently noticed that it is getting very glitchy. I have the app on both my laptop and phone, and neither update in real time. You have to exit out of the conversation or app entirely in order for it to update and show all of your messages. I have not experienced this issue before this year. This is very frustrating, as I am now frequently missing important information because I don’t realize that people are sending messages at the same
time as me. I have heard similar complaints from other friends that use GroupMe, and it is getting to the point where all of my organizations are looking for different apps to use for communication.

A week of problems
My app stopped loading conversations a week ago. I uninstalled app and reinstalled. Now I get nothing but errors and am not able to sign in.

Dumbest way to recover accounts
Just so you know, it won’t let you recover your account by sending an email like a normal company. You have to contact customer support and talk about your recent chats rather than just a simple email to confirm. Braindead company.

The amount of people scamming on this app and somehow joining private servers is ridiculous.
