Love the features, but hangs often
I love all the options: font type, the moving lines, option of changing from a ebook to audiobook,…..but it kept hanging, the speed of moving text became uncontrollable and sadly I had to remove it. Hoping they will fix the issues soon so I can redownload.
What does this app do?
I may not be a digital native but I’m no dummy and I had to delete this app immediately as I couldn’t work out how to do anything - it just kept on loading ads and asking for a rating!
No illustrations
For reading its great but none of the illustrations show up. Please change this so they do.
Practical, uncomplicated, and useful
This is the kind of little app that I love: it is focused on helping with a specific problem, and it provides a surprisingly powerful tool to help me deal with that.
If you’re looking for help preparing your taxes or fixing dinner…well, this app isn’t designed for that.
If being able to adjust the text*, make notes, and manage a small library of books on your phone is what you’re looking for this app will be just what you need.
* About adjusting the text: the teams of VOLUNTEERS who scan books for Project Gutenberg or other sources of FREE books have no idea what size the screen on your device is. There are occasionally issues which they do the best they can to correct when they learn about them. If the font size or style is changed additional problems may occur.
While I understand that artifacts from the scanning process or errors caused when the text is adjusted can be frustrating I think we should remember the designer of this app really isn’t responsible for our woes.

Glad I Found It
I was using My Books until my frustration mounted because of duplicate or missing pages.
This is a wonderful app with many useful features My Books lacked.
I love old books of adventure and biography, and I found many of my favorites by William HG Kingston here.

Very Easy Access
Mainly the classics are found in this app. So if you were ever curious about their contents then get this app. A lot of other books seem to come from collegiate sources. Don’t expect books that you get from the paying sources like AMZ, BN, etc. Those exist for a reason, smile.

Just downloaded, so haven’t much experience! But noticed right away that it doesn't sync between separate devices, ie ipad and iPhone !
Not good at finding books
I was trying to find the book wild wings and it did not show up it showed everything except the book I searched I even tried searching the author and it still did not work. I have been trying to find an audio book for wild wings and I can’t find one.
Needs improvement
There’s no search function, but there is a search field… very odd.
The only way to find a book is to sort by title and scroll through page after page.
I hoped the Pro version would be better, it’s not.
I’ll try another Gutenberg app.

I see nothing but a bunch of porn.
It was not the best but acceptable
It didint really have any of the book I wanted, which I guess is my problem because I was looking for Alex rider crocodile tears and I can find it anywhere except for Libby and someone is already borrowing it. The desighn is very nice but it was a little complicated, for me at least. Pretty good, might recommend.

Not very good at finding books
Unfortunately, this app has trouble searching Project Gutenberg's website. I asked it for "Three Men in a Boat" and it found everything EXCEPT Three Men in a Boat. When I asked it to look for Jerome K. Jerome (who wrote Three Men in a Boat) it didn't give me the option of looking for the author of that name; it just started feeding me books both by and about Mr. Jerome, as well as a few that seemed totally off-topic.
Forget about this reader; you don't need it either to download or to read books from Project Gutenberg. There's a better app already out there; it's named "Project Gutenberg." It's free; it's easy to find; and it works seemlessly with the Project Gutenberg website, making it easy to find, download, and read the books you want.

Does not display Umlauts
Seems to be a major oversight. Don’t know if it my phone or the app.
Gutenberg Reader
I found this app very useful and I like it quite well. It’s easy to find, store and load books and in most ways easy to use. I have found the app robbery slightly buggy. It’s use is not intuitive at times and use of the app is not well documented. Highly recommended.
Painfully ugly and cannot download Gutenberg titles
The UI is unbearably ugly. Words are split at random for example. It looks like a geocities site rendered for the first time in a new resolution. The search button renders as:

A 4-year-old Could Probably Do It
The age-rating is 4+, so I assume a young child would be able to manage this. But this 75-year-old finds it too clunky to bother with it. Start the auto-scroll, for example, and then try to control it, which we're supposed to be able to do. And the Settings are all about colors and fonts. Seriously!?

So many bugs. I got plenty of adds. I never actually got to read a book. Too many bugs.

Thanks for fixing the issues with the iPhone XR. Love this app! I enjoy the auto scrolling feature and the many choices of books!
