App is no longer working

Only boss timers works. You can no longer enter your API either by copy paste OR by scanning with camera. Neither works anymore rendering app useless.

Update: I think I found it! I'm running a new build now and should send it out to testers today. I can't reproduce the API key being un-enterable, but there is a case where after entering it you may need to pull to refresh on the pages that say you need certain API key permissions (and one instance where the error message does not properly disappear after doing so - I've added that to the tracker). Has potential

This has potential to be very useful in a lacking gw2 companion app market. My biggest issue on my iPad is that the UI needs some serious improvement. Many pages are just broken looking and illegible. The idea and work put in this far is great, but it needs updating for sure.

Great App

I love this app, but it would be super cool if you could turn reminders/notifications on or off for world bosses. There used to be an app on iOS App Store that showed all the world bosses in a list and then showed what time it would next pop up. You could turn the reminders on or off and then each time that boss would show up, it would push notif on phone.

It’d also be cool to show the achievements you’re closest to completing. Or at least an ability to sort them. Categories would be nice too.

Otherwise, excellent app!

Great, updated and iOS friendly

Does everything I could want. Characters and there deaths, wallet, bank, collectables, achievements and more. Its also got a boss timer and daily activity tab.

Love this app!

The Guild Wars 2 Assistant has been super helpful keeping my characters and activities organized. I love how it links to the wiki if you aren’t sure of some of the full details for things like what this weapon deats are or where this daily entails and whatnot. (It does include the basics on all these things, the wiki is just linked for extra info.) The boss timer is real time and spot on. This app has been a game changer :) the only thing is when I tried to go support the devs, Ko-Fi tells me that you haven’t set up support payments, or something to that effect?? So I can’t send money compliments for this wonderful app ;3; (although I guess that’s fine cause I don’t have a paypal, anyway). But I would like to do something to support the devs cause like I said this app has been a blessing in disguise!! So here’s a glowing review! I know it doesn’t help much but at least it helps on the App Store. Keep up the awesomeness <3

I think appstoreconnect ate my reply, so sorry if this appears twice: You can try to clear the cache via the settings page - if there's a lot of data sometimes the local cache gets gummed up and causes issues. I've unfortunately not had really any time to work on this in my free time.

All the information you need about your characters and account is easily accessible. It’s also a breeze to set up using API Key.

Was working good

Good app that helped keep track of which characters had what in their inventory, and keeping up with daily’s. Was working pretty good with the occasional shut down and restart. But as of yesterday all it does it give a spinning loading symbol. Should be good once it’s updated

I believe the API was down a fair amount around the time of the Path of Fire release and the subsequent months (which the app needs to handle more gracefully), so it should be mostly better now. There was some scheduled maintenance around that time: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/12673/api-downtime-oct-30-nov-1, nothing specifically on this review date though.

Awesome app! But...

I love the info in the app! However, I come across certain screens where I get the spinning loading icon in the middle of the screen and it spins and spins. At that point I can't do anything. Other things I have no issue. I have to restart the app at that time. Is this a problem with my connection or the app?

For what it's worth I'm slowly finishing up a v2 of the App (mostly same functionality, just some fixes and updating the framework) but I've not really had a lot of time to work on it.

Best GW2 app

This has everything I was looking for in a Guild Wars 2 app. The user interface is basic and nothing fancy, but considering that it's free I'm happy with it. Moreover everything seems to be up-to-date, which is more than many GW2 apps can say.

Great app!

Even though the app won't load data after the update I'm giving it 4 stars because was great app before update and I know author will fix.
***Edit: Deleted app and re-installed on advice of very helpful author. Works great now! Back to 5 stars.

Thanks for the review and sorry for the issue! Won't load data in what way - Just a white screen? Feel free to send more info over to support@alextheward.com. We're currently rewriting the whole thing to use Ionic 3, to help with some of the data problems - hoping to have that out soon.

Good start

Won't reset each day. Have to force by clearing cache and closing app to refresh daily. If app could detect HoT through API key then should only show relevant dailies. Would be nice to show gem store dailies for march so don't have to log in and see if I'm missing something. There's so many API that could be used, hopefully they are all implemented some day. I'm hoping to have an app like gw2timer. One last thing would be nice if achievements were grouped or sortable

The dailies not resetting is definitely a bug - I've added it to the tracker. Most views let you pull to refresh, but not the dailies, which I'll fix. There is a key on the /account endpoint which covers what account level you have - we can definitely look to adding the relevant HoT dailies.
