About
HA Publisher is a small private utility for a single household.
It lets the members of one family trigger their own Home Assistant
home-automation actions from an iPhone: opening the Small Gate, the Main
Gate, the Main Entrance, and the Parking Entrance (and the lights tied to
them). Each action is a single tap on a simple button grid; the app shows a
loading state and then a success confirmation.
How it works: when you tap an action, the app publishes a small message
directly from your device to the household owner's own Google Cloud Pub/Sub
topic. The owner's Home Assistant system subscribes to that topic and
performs the action at the house. There is no third-party server in between
and no public API.
Sign-in: the app requires signing in with a Google account that belongs to
the household's private Google Workspace organization. This is an Internal
Google OAuth configuration and is intentionally limited — only the small set
of existing Workspace accounts in that organization can sign in. The app is
not designed or intended for the general public.
Because of that limited audience, this app is distributed as an Unlisted app:
it is not shown in App Store search or charts and is installed by a private
link shared only with the household. This is by design.
Privacy: the app collects only the email address of the signed-in Google
account, and only so the action you trigger can be attributed to you within
the household's own system. There is no tracking, no analytics, no
advertising, and no data is shared with third parties beyond Google
Sign-In and the owner's own Google Cloud Pub/Sub topic, which are required
for the app to function.
App Review note: a built-in Demo Mode is included so the full interface and
flow can be exercised without a Google Workspace account and without any
network request.
