Not responsive

No place that I could find to cancel after you sign up. No response to repeated emails. Very poor customer service experience. Beware.

Watch out for plugins

Great way to understand how HF works. Unfortunately you need to add plugins to truly understand how a radio works. Those cost money! Recommend trying before you buy. My opinion is it’s not worth the money.

Ham Radio Simulation

Admirable effort has been exerted to develop a realistic simulation of the ionosphere. I think real ham radio is great, heaving a homebrew antenna at the end of a bamboo mast to a 45 degree angle in a cold drizzle, coax tangled up on tree limbs, then finally getting it vertical for the seventh time, secured, a good SWR check, and being able to relay others into a VHF simplex net. The verbal exchange is my struggle, and HamSphere is an excellent opportunity to hone mike skill. Neither is it restricted to just voice. I’ve heard CW and FT8. On a PC it’s a lot easier to inject any audio source you choose. It will run fine alongside FLDigi or WSJT-X. For that matter, you could use this app acoustic-coupled with an Android phone running Andflmsg. The ionospheric model is just an algorithm, it won’t do meteor scatter, ducting, or sporadic-E. It’s great practice though. Also, every once in a while, the server will drop you. HamSphere does charge for a subscription, and software development appears to be tightly controlled. There are no “roll your own” baluns, stacked quads, or lightning arrestors.
HamSphere is a great place to learn the indoor work of good radio operation.

The best

HamSphere is deffently an amazing program (VOIP) you can learn alot from Han radio operators

It’s Alright.

Ok. This is a simulation of Ham Radio. It’s not trying to lie about that. For what it is, it works great. For a person who is not a licensed Ham Operator, this is an excellent way to learn how to use a Ham Radio on repeaters and on the HF bands. For the people who are Licensed Ham Operators who don’t have a large enough piece property for a large HF antenna, this could be good for to play around with. BUT!!! For the Licensed Ham Operators that does have large enough properties for their large HF antennas I can see this being a waste of money. Because from experience you can do better with your own radio and antenna instead of this Hamsphere. I paid for and used this for 1 year as a Licensed Ham Operator and I tried to use this everyday and I bought large antennas on here and I could talk to some people but it just wasn’t that good. The people just wasn’t there. You’d see them on the log as being seen on the frequency but you’d never hear them. I’ve talked all over the world with my real radio and dipole antenna but on here I couldn’t do that with a more powerful radio and a very expensive antenna! It just didn’t do what you’d expect it to do, when it’s supposed to be “Like Ham Radio”! I may try it again later if they get things fixed to work better, but I don’t know if I really want to spend that much money and it still be the same way again.

To be honest, I think I’m being generous with the 3 stars!!!!

Do t waste your time!

Complete fake!

Ham

It crashes all the time. Please fix it.

Poor

Absolutely impossible to contact developers, and the account sign up page doesn’t work.

Pointless

Fake HF

Dont waste your time with this.. fake HF

Why couldn’t they just stick with hs 3’s ui?

I liked hs 3 back when it existed. I thought it was kind of a bummer that hs 4 couldn’t be on mobile either. Now i see why; ui looks like a toddler’s toy, and the images can prove that. What the images don’t show you, is that it’s so janky, that i had to exit the app just to log in once already. If the ui was truly voted in, it feels like it was a clown with a bunch of bots, and it crashes every time i try to change the power.

Hard to Cancel

I downloaded app and found it difficult to use. I decided to cancel and after looking through the app and their website, could not find an option to cancel the subscription. I sent a message to support to cancel but have not heard back.

What a cool idea.

I dig the interface. It’s a very convincing simulation. Would love an iPad app.

I like it

Good
