About
Hey fellow music lover! I'm a 10th grader and play and love the cello. Something that bothers me during practice is having to reach to my stand and adjust the metronome while my hands are full. To mitigate my frustration, I made this voice operated metronome for myself. It's a little tool that's perfect for anyone who would rather make music than tap buttons. I hope it can also help you.
FEATURES
- Voice control using Siri: This app is activated by saying "Hey Siri (or Siri), Metronome start", "Hey Siri, Metronome set" and "Hey Siri, Metronome stop", when you can't reach your iPhone or iPad.
- Built-in privacy: This app never uses your microphone and needs no internet connection for voice commands! When you say "Hey Siri (or Siri), Metronome start/stop/set", Siri sends the respective command to the app which then controls the metronome accordingly. This app never hears your voice; only Siri hears.
- Minimalism: As the logo indicates, it does 3 things an OG metronome does: start, stop, set tempo. I tried to KISS :3
PREREQUISITES
- Go to Settings => Siri (or "Apple Intelligence and Siri"). Under "Talk to Siri", make sure either "Siri' or 'Hey Siri'" or "Hey Siri" is checked. Also turn on "Allow Siri When Locked".
- The first time you use a voice command, you will be asked "Turn on 'Metronome' Shortcuts with Siri?" from a pop-up at the top of your screen. Select "Turn On".
