About

Some dishes you plan a trip around. Some you stumble onto and never forget. HankRing is your food discovery app and travel guide, the place where you capture every dish worth remembering and find the ones still worth seeking out. WHAT IS HANKRING? A Hank is a craving. The dish you keep thinking about, the drink that almost no one makes right, the thing your friends have heard about one too many times. The Ring is the community that shares them, no leaders and no algorithms, just people who love food quietly agreeing on what is worth finding. HankRing is both. Your cravings and your people. YOUR FOOD JOURNAL FIRST Every time you eat or drink something worth remembering, rate it. Not the restaurant, not the service, not the lighting. The dish. The drink. The thing you actually came for. Your journal builds quietly over time into a private record of every bite and sip worth going back for, searchable, filterable, and yours alone. FIND YOUR NEXT HANK HankRing finds the spots near you that serve your Hanks. Search by what you're craving. The map shows you where to go. When you're traveling, the Ring already knows what's worth eating wherever you are headed. THE RING Every rating you give quietly becomes a vote in the Ring. The Ring is a community ranking of the best dishes and drinks in every city, built entirely from real ratings by real people. No paid placement. No promoted posts. No algorithms deciding what is popular. When a dish rises to the top of the Ring it is because enough people who truly care all had the same reaction: this is the one. THE POWER OF THE RING You are just keeping your journal, but over time the Ring reveals its magic. The best of everything rises to the top, hidden gems, hard to find dishes, the local secret nobody outside the neighborhood knows about yet. Your personal journal quietly becomes part of the world's food journal, and if you watch closely you can see food trends emerge in real time from people who are actually eating. WHAT THIS WILL NEVER BE HankRing is not social media. There are no followers, no feeds, no place to read a diatribe about slow service or bad lighting. What's New in HankRing

1.0.4

September 29, 2026

What's new in 1.0.4 - Many more likely spots. After checking the places nearest you, HankRing now keeps checking every place your search found, so dishes and drinks on menus a little farther away show up too. In our city tests this found 2 to 10 times more likely spots. - A cleaner map. Only the 10 nearest unconfirmed spots are shown, and likely spots far away wait behind a "Show" button instead of zooming the map out. - Fast-food chains no longer show up as likely spots. - Fixed Scan More Spots dropping the extra spots it had just found. - Menus posted as PDFs are now read too, so more places turn green. - Smarter menu matching: accents and hyphens are handled, and fewer places are marked likely by mistake. - In iOS Low Data Mode, the extra checking is skipped to save data.
