Buggy but usable

Love having a good reads alternative but 1/10 times I'm going to come across a bug.

Either the site is down or some strange UI bug occurs. I know the development team will work out it out but need to call out the issues so they can be fixed.

Nice idea but way too slow in use

Nice idea but really slow in use. It’s infuriatingly slow. Delays while doing basically anything. I just want a slick way to track books I read and might like and to easily add all books in a series or author. Can’t be that difficult

It’s okay

I find myself frustrated every time I use this app because I have been logged out and it doesn’t remember my login information. Fix this please!

It’s also a little clunky with respect to adding a new read. Sometimes it adds multiple reads if I say I’m currently reading something and try to adjust the dates or type of book.

As others have noted it’s also slow to load at times when I just want to log in a quick update to my reading status.

An Avid Reader’s Necessity

So glad I found this app! Pairs extremely well with StoryGraph, and even has a few features that are better. Will definitely be becoming a member ASAP.

Really good!

Better than everything else out there. Props to the developers 👍

Great Book Tracker

Love this app so far. I always found Goodreads to be hard for me to stick with for some odd reason, but this one feels much more smooth and addictive to me.

Amazing website

Love it. Better than good reads and most other trackers.

Just what I was looking for

This app deserves way more attention

How is this not the most popular book tracking app!?

Great features, looks nice, just a good amount of social features but without feeling too much like a social platform. Like that it tracks audiobook listens and pages individually.

A Modern Feeling, Functional Reading App

This app feels like it was designed by real readers, for real readers. Easy to navigate, intuitive and pleasant interface, features that actually add to the experience of reading. Highly recommended.

Has huge potential but not there yet

I love storygraph and I still think it's the best as I only read ebooks and audiobooks. Hardcover however is looking like a strong contender and I do like where the devs seem to be going. My only thing as a non physical book reader it has kinks where my library transfered over with many of them as physical books and it just seems the books in my library still seem to be treated as physical books instead of ebooks or audiobooks. Also when creating my profile I kept getting 500 error code.

pretty buggy…

i love the concept and the execution, it’s just the lack of responsiveness and constant redirection of what i click on that bothers me, adding books from search is a tedious chore that constantly makes me hit the wrong button because the screen keeps moving! many aspects of the app feel unresponsive or slow to function, which makes it hard to work with this effectively

Love this website

Best alternative to Goodreads I’ve ever found- literally tried so many others and this was by far my favorite. The stats, the UI, the look of it 10/10. Only annoying thing was when it exported my Goodreads it put an end date to my read books but not a start date so I had to do it manually on 80 books for 2025 but that’s a small price to pay imo

2025 wrapped

Get rid of the bs 2025 wrapped at the top of the app. I don't want it and newsflash, I already know what I read.

Feels good

The app feels really good.
The most important thing for me is that I can participate here.
The fact that the other platform was taken over by the big A made it even easier for me to switch here.
Please make sure that the Hardcover app continues to be fun.

Letterboxd for Books

The app could be built better (it’s just a website in app form so you do a lot of waiting/loaded) but it’s exactly what I was looking for.

Better than I expected!

Definitely has a few bugs that need to be ironed out but the features, values and vision of this app is so worth dealing with a few minor kinks.

Nice idea but a really bad app

The idea is great and the connection with KOreader is great. But the iOS app is one of the worst I‘ve ever seen!

So slow

I love the app and how it looks, plus couple of functions like the moods in addition to genres and so on. But, these all are just frustratingly slow and most of the time the app is generally unusable. Like you click something and nothing happens. I know you changed your stack couple of months ago for better performance, but I guess your problem lies in another place. The web app is exactly the same in terms of performance and problems.

This could be „the app“ for social book tracking, but these problems need to be solved.

I want to like it

I want to like this app so much. Visually it’s great. Using it is unfortunately frustrating. My reading goal won’t update when I add my finished books, and any books that aren’t under the sci-fi fantasy umbrella don’t have descriptions or cover art. I think it has the potential to be great but at the moment it’s not.
