Been my go to layered vocal vibes for years

I’m going 5 stars because I have gotten so much use out of it over the years and it’s been good to me, just barely tho as it’s a big cpu hit, at this point a big update would really help, As of now I would probably recommend Bleass Voices over this, but I still use it often, and enjoy the limited presets.

Was great but now

I’ve enjoyed this app for years and previously considered it the best mobile vocoder app on the market. However, it has not been updated in years and is finally showing its age. Audio Unit no longer works in Loopy Pro on iOS 18.5. Full of static. I tried to set up the inter app audio, which works better, but still getting some static and the controls are unresponsive thus I can no longer edit or make new presets. Even VirSyn’s website is falling apart. I think, unfortunately, it’s time for this app to be retired.

Solid Audio Unit

Works well with GarageBand on iOS. I recommend using an app default preset or creating your own instead of changing parameters through GarageBand. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for solid vocal FX.

A Load of Fun

Excellent for fun and special effects. This is not a regular vocal harmony app. Must use earphones and external mic is best. Important to go into the effects section and fix the threshold. (>Dynamic processor > gate thresh around 30.)Better if the developer could make the threshold more accessible.

Why not for Mac?

I really need this for Mac!!!!

Poor quality sound

Lots of hype about this app. but found it very disappointing. Not asking much - just wanted a simple 3 party harmony that didn’t sound like the Smurfs.

However, can be used for experimental work.

Very cool harmonizing effect

I didn’t get it at first, but after checking out some presets realized it’s best not to use Shift and only transpose by Cents. Then the app started shining. I love having all kinds of fx, they broaden my imagination and spark creativity. Will definitely use this one on some voice tracks!

Some reviewers mentioned problems, I didn’t encounter any so far, I guess the developers took care of them.

Only downside I found is, that delay slider goes from 0 to 10sec, which I guess someone might need such a high value, but maybe you could add a “zoom” button which would make the slider range say, 0 - 100ms which is a good range for subtle delay effect. Or maybe make it accept typing values. It’s possible to dial in smaller values as it is, but just thought this would make the app even better.

Luscious vocals and choirs made easy

Need an ethereal spine-tingling choir? Lack of polyphonic vocals giving you the blues? Do you need to outdo Enya? Does your soul need a pick-me-up?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then you NEED this app! Honestly, I bought it on a whim not expecting much but boy was I happy I took the gamble. Anybody with functioning vocal cords can now create sublime choral soundscapes that truly recreate the sound of a living breathing choir.

Of course, it’ll create chaotic messes, barbershop harmonies, or basic studio effects commonly used for vocals. It’s the Swiss army knife of polyphonic vocal effects.

Succeeds fantastically

The interface is straightforward. Up to 8 voices which you can harmonise from -1 8ve to +1 8ve, and delay those harmonies independently. Different formants and different panning for each. Additional fx on top.
Personally I prefer to keep it natural sounding and modulate the pitch of voices from external MIDI sources. Incredible polyphonic results from this kind of experimentation, and the pitch shifted audio sounds very good. Naturally it works great also with monosynths etc. Very low latency on my iPad Pro.

Pretty good

Nice app. Would love a few more presets though...

Harmony 8 - proppa stuff ✔️

When I purchased this app and played around with a couple Acapellas, I did hear some artefacts (noise), with some presets.
But I was was determined to not judge the app after 5 minutes.

I also found that even source sounds with some reverb on it will make it sound 🙃. Yuck.
So a clean (Clean!) monophonic sound is essential, period!
(The app needs to find a/the single pitch).

So I pulled all the controls back to zero (+0) etc, and created an 'init' preset.
Zero-ing the controls includes switching off all the effect too.
After this I started to add and tweak tracks one by one.. - including the fx.

Now.... Wow!! 😍

This is an excellent app!

I'm not gonna write how I use it, but, it works wonders for 'my' projects.

I have asked the developers about having multi Audio outs, that would be awesome, - (but I'm not deducting a star for this, as it is a request not a promised or broken feature).

If you are willing to approach this with logic and ease, it will amaze you.

All is well,

King

😎

Edit: since writing the above review, yesterday, an update has come with a Polyphonic option. Choose between Mono and Poly in the Algorithm section.

Works great!

Seems good however

I played with this app briefly but the AU and IAP are not working... I'm sure they will fix this soon. I was able to use Audiobus 2 with it, but I don't really use audiobus and it's supposed to have AU and IAP. I'm using iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 on iOS 10.3.2 both have same problem. Tried both AU and IAP in Cubasis, GarageBand, and Modstep.

Great for harmonizing single voices and treble instruments

That's all I've tried so far, but it worked great with these. It's best to use this app on clean, sounds pre any effects processing, I've found.

Disappointing sound

Sound quality is really poor, from an otherwise good developer, though the concept is good.

Asking for a refund as this doesn't work as a harmoniser.

This company is awesome

I own EVERY app they make. Always creative, always cutting edge. Thank you. Check out the ReSlice app as well. It will blow your mind!
Keep the cool apps coming team!
