Terrible download capability
Don’t subscribe expecting to be able to use the app to watch offline. The download capability is horrendous, unreliable and fails 9/10. More often that not I open what I think is a downloaded episode to find it’s unable to play.
Randomly turns my TV on
The app keeps turning my TV on and playing random programs after I have used it and turned off. Have to unplug my TV every night to stop it turning on randomly in the middle of the night. Please fix this!!!!!
Unreliable
I love the shows on this app but the app itself is unreliable. It constantly logs you out of the app on its own and when that happens it deletes all of the shows that you’ve downloaded. By the time I realize it’s happened I’m in a no service area and can’t redownload them.
Good shows- service use is bad
I wish this app worked well for me being I love housewives but downloading is so bad, very slow!!!! and often deletes all the episodes downloaded if I close the app…. So so frustrating
Always glitching out
I’ve used Hayu for years now and it’s beyond glitchy. It’s unacceptable at this point - just look at Reddit. Error codes and having to log in multiple times or having to enter your password again while the background glitches out and doesn’t let you do so.
Awful App
The app never remembers where you left off viewing a show on one device, let alone should you dare to watch on a smart TV and then try continuing on a mobile device. Downloading shows to watch when you are offline is also infuriating. You download a few episodes of your favourite show and then the app randomly deletes some episodes so you cannot continue watching them in the intended order. I want my subscription fee back !

The app is just VERY buggy when casting to the tv and I need to recast frequently because the playback bugs or it shows error messages for no reason

One day, this app won’t have issues.
After all these years, this app still has so many issues. Download things so I can watch when I have no internet service. They’re all downloaded and then once I go to watch them GONE! Please sort this out!
WTF this can’t be legit!!
I can’t believe how poor the Hayu app is!! It’s got great content, but here are the issues I’ve discovered in just one hour:
* Downloads disappear.
* I was given a 7-day free trial but still got charged £5.99.
* Customer service claims I haven’t been charged… well, Monzo doesn’t lie!
Honestly, what a joke! Do the developers actually work on this app, or do they just check in once every 6 months? Judging by the constant negative comments, I’d guess it’s definitely once in a blue moon!!

I love the shows but pay your developers
The app for tv is literally the worst streaming app to exist and I cannot even emphasise that enough. What happened in the last 5 years for it to become so utterly pathetic at paring and streaming. Either you know you can scam people, you are hiring elderly people to code or you’re using ai because no competent person would be happy with providing this service. And yes, you should take this personally.

Being ghosted by the support team
I’ve had an ongoing issue with accessing my account and I’m just getting the same troubleshooting response from the support team. I’ve emailed multiple times saying that it’s still not working and now it’s been well over 3 days with no email back!

I love Hayu and its content, but the app is just totally unusable. Every time I try to download an episode, I come back to watch it and the download disappears. This is incredibly disappointing especially when I’m wasting mobile data every time.
Disappointing platform, great shows, numerous issues
It’s a bummer this app sucks so bad because the shows are really good. It’s constantly blacking out, pausing, randomly turning off then asking me to log back in etc.. especially when using it on the TV. Super annoying considering we pay for this.
Don’t waste your time
This app is garbage. I’ve put up with wonky subtitles, issues streaming to a TV from my phone, being unable to watch downloaded videos offline, but now I’m prompted to continuously renew my subscription, even though I have a valid monthly and now even a valid yearly subscription and yet still asked to renew and still unable to watch anything. Don’t waste your money and try to use this app. Minus 5 stars.

Terrible playback performance
Doesn't matter what device you watch on Hayu is awful with playback and audio issues constantly. Not something you can sit and watch easily constantly having to go out and back into episodes/series

Probably the worst streaming app
App doesn’t work on TV, only phone and when I say works on phone not really. Have to keep closing and opening the app to watch a show. Then app freezes all the time, it will randomly fast forwards through multiple episodes. If the app is working half decent after 3 or 4 episodes it just won’t allow you to watch another one till the next day. to The fact that they do not even try to make it semi usable is just sad.

Glitchy!
Very glitchy app, the Samsung TV version is a react app web browser. Often videos won’t play and you just get error codes. Learn to test your software.
