HBO uses their own player rather than Apple’s. That means no support for subtitles after backing up to replay a scene, so I have to leave subtitles on all of the time, which is annoying.

Glitchy
This app is so buggy. I cast to my tv using chrome cast. Every other streaming app is use works fine, but HBO Max glitches. It buffers constantly and the only way to get it to work is to download the app fresh each time I want to watch something. Ugh

I enjoy the app but $20/month for basic and ads is ridiculous. The price is only going to continue for to go up. I won’t be returning to the app unless the price drops significantly

I honestly didn’t think I would like HBO this much because I used to have the channel on my old cable box if I’m not telling my age too much but I love DC and the ‘other’ guy doesn’t have any DC movies. Highly Recommend!

Updated: fast developer response. HBO Max app was up to date, but updating the software for the Samsung TV itself seems to have fixed the issue.
Latest update to tv app means I can’t watch an event from the beginning if it’s live. Even though the option still appears.
