E2E use case and experience lacking

Great concept, unfortunately poorly executed.

Despite a clean layout, this app does not stick to the KISS principle let alone . It wouldn’t be hard to have one clear, differently coloured or highlighted button, for submission of daily check!

1. This app is full of bugs and errors, every daily check requires at least 3-5 attempts at submission for it to “stick”
2. No ability to off-board - despite leaving SA the daily prompts continue. Not sure how this will work when there are multiple border crossings within 14 days but I suspect not well / at all
3. App doesn’t update for changing border and testing requirements (ie day 1 & 6 tests no longer required)

Useless trash.

Took three days for it to let me sign in because it was telling me my account wasn’t valid. Let’s me in finally for my mandatory symptom checks and takes at least 15 minutes to submit that I don’t have symptoms because it keeps failing. Can’t believe the SA state government paid for this. Outside the app but support is also useless. Their advice was uninstall and reinstall each day or buy a new phone. Nothing wrong with my brand new phone but nice try.

Terrible App - Worst App I have ever used!

This would have to be the worst app that has ever been designed! Falls into error constantly, won’t let you submit health check but for some reason doesn’t seem to have a problem sending a notification about having to do it. Before you hound people you might want to make sure they can actually do what you want them to do.

Does not work properly!

I competed my necessary 14 days of entering symptoms post returning to home but the app continued to send me notifications saying I had not competed final symptom entry. I called the SA covid hotline and they told me to delete app and reinstall but this had not worked and just reinstalls from the same point as where I deleted it. I don’t know how to reset it for my next trip and requirement to enter symptoms! Very frustrating. Especially as when I call the hotline they do not seem to know how to rectify the issue.

A really great idea but needs some refining

Generally the app works well, but my biggest gripe is that when you leave the state and return within the period of you initial trip there is no way to reset the app and enter a new entry number.

I tried calling the help number and was told to delete the app and re-install. But this just reverts to the previous trips details.

Trying to do the right thing, app is not helping

This is a great idea poorly executed.
How are we expected to do the right thing and complying with requirements when the app is inconsistent with the testing and symptom check schedule between people and between days the the app doesn’t connect to the server most times.
Then to add on top, every time you speak to health authorities they give different information. What is the right thing it do? Who knows?

Worst app I’ve ever used

Had repeated problems accessing and using this app. Kept ticking over even though my 14 days had expired three weeks ago and I’d left the state. Made five phone calls to try and fix and finally told I have to ring them when I leave the state to off board. So, no one in app development could think to put a feature on the app that allows you to indicate your 14 days is over and you’ve left the state? Instead you have to make a phone call and be placed on hold for an hour. Whoever developed this should be fired.

Cannot login

I cannot get past the log in - as soon as I click on ‘log in’ it comes up with a message that says ‘an error has occurred. Please log in again through your application’

Rang help desk several times - deleted, reinstalled many times. Waited 20 minutes- restarted phone. Anyway- I tried everything and it still won’t work.

Inability to logout

I have travelled interstate twice within the past couple of weeks with a result of now having 2 active unique ids. However there’s a gap in the implementation of the app as it doesn’t allow you to discontinue the older unique id and login using the new one.
I have rang the support line and they had no idea how to handle this situation. I have even tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it keeps the older unique id active. Other than that, it’s a good app which needs to be enhanced.

Wait for it

Once you cross the border and get your text, using this app makes sense. Perhaps some wording changes on how to start the app would assist.

But I like it and can see how it helps keep a track of how people are going without having to resort to quarantining them.

Good concept.

App does not load on iPhone 6s

This app is useless the app does not work at all on my iPhone 6. Tries deleting and re- loading it at least 6 times. It just opens then immediately shuts down. Tried everything else too including latest updates for iOS and deleting a tonne of images to make some more space in memory.
Total waste of time and effort.

Bad User Experience.

As another reviewer pointed out, if you haven’t been texted your Unique Identifier, it’s likely because you don’t have a phone number recorded in mySA GOV.

If you add a phone number to your mySA GOV account, you will receive a text with your Unique Identifier.

The rest of the application functions well as far as I can see but this is some pretty basic user experience stuff that has been missed.

Something as simple as making a user confirm their details so they can add a missing phone number would have saved a lot of confusion.

I’m not blaming the developers. In all likelihood this app was rushed and so things were missed. What I am surprised about is that they haven’t patched this yet. It’s been live for two weeks.

Even something as simple as a “we’ve detected you do not have a mobile number associated with your MySA Gov account, please click the following link to add one so we can send you your Unique Identifier” would be better than nothing.

Happy customer!! Thanks SA Health

I’ve been using the HealthCheck SA application to monitor symptoms per my entry requirements and it has been totally simple. A very seamless experience from application through to arrival and using the app. Very grateful to be able to return to SA!!

Might be good if it works

Great alternative to quarantine in a medi hotel But coming in from overseas you can’t install the app as your device needs to be setup for Australian region (sim and payment) what is near to impossible if you’re in quarantine. After borrowing a local device login not possible as a unique I’d is required that hasn’t been sent.... use cases, user journeys and App backed all don’t seem to have been tested properly.

Terrible

Firstly it’s only available on Australian App Store so I had to use a different phone and Apple ID to even get it. International travelers returning home can’t access it unlike NSW app which is non international app stores. Then could not activate, help desk non existent the number is a general number with options which I did not know which one applied. Person finally that I spoke to could not help and took symptoms over the phone. I updated the IOS re installed and spent 3 hours trying to get to work. Most will simply give up. Terrible.

Doesn’t work

App won’t send you the unique ID you need to get started so cannot get past the start screen, have deleted and reinstalled over 10 times and still will not work

App nor the tech support phone number work

One of the worst apps and service I’ve had to use. The app set up doesn’t work. Spent 3 hours on phone yesterday and told to uninstall and reinstall to fix it. That didn’t work. Have been trying to phone SA health for 5 hours today to get help as meant to do daily symptom check. Everytime it goes to option selection on phone, the call is disconnected. I am doing the right things my end, all my tests etc but worried I will get into trouble now because no daily symptom check. It is astonishing that the staff on the phone told me these are known issues, yet nothing on the website to put peoples mind at ease or when the issue will be rectified. Makes those of us from interstate feel very unwelcome in South Australia . Extremely stressed that I will be fined even though the issue is on the SA government side. Utterly appalling.

MANY PROBLEMS

Login and activation is meant to send an SMS with Unique ID - but doesn’t. Unstable back end - poor support. Obviously hasn’t undergone much User Acceptance Testing. No doubt people will be given a hard time for not being able to use this as required - but it is the fault of the South Australian Government for not providing the people and resources needed to make this stable and work properly. No doubt it was put together in a rush despite the Pandemic going on for 18 months so far.

Better than a Medi Hotel

Would pretty much do anything if it meant not having to be locked up in medi hotel for two weeks

Some frustrations with the app

- the colour flashing when your face is being scanned. What’s the point of this?

-the cartoon effect of when your face is being scanned.

- facial recognition is near impossible if outside playing with children

- often takes multiple attempts to scan face.

- not sure what the app is comparing my face scans too as I’ve not provided proof of id with a photo

- should be a notification at the 10 and 5 minute mark if not checked in

Good first iteration

The app is an excellent alternative to medi hotel for those whom have the ability to isolate safely.

However, I have a few pet peeves with the app.
- check can sometimes fail and took up to seven attempts to actually check in
- the notification to check uses the default system notification sound so can be missed if another app is having a lot of notifications come through
- a single notification to check in is not enough, it should be multiple times in case you miss it.
- there should be a warning with regards to the use of flashing lights since it is a health risk to some
- the check in notification should clear itself if you have checked in to avoid panic of a missed check in
