E2E use case and experience lacking
Despite a clean layout, this app does not stick to the KISS principle let alone . It wouldn’t be hard to have one clear, differently coloured or highlighted button, for submission of daily check!
1. This app is full of bugs and errors, every daily check requires at least 3-5 attempts at submission for it to “stick”
2. No ability to off-board - despite leaving SA the daily prompts continue. Not sure how this will work when there are multiple border crossings within 14 days but I suspect not well / at all
3. App doesn’t update for changing border and testing requirements (ie day 1 & 6 tests no longer required)
Useless trash.
Terrible App - Worst App I have ever used!
Does not work properly!
A really great idea but needs some refining
I tried calling the help number and was told to delete the app and re-install. But this just reverts to the previous trips details.
Trying to do the right thing, app is not helping
How are we expected to do the right thing and complying with requirements when the app is inconsistent with the testing and symptom check schedule between people and between days the the app doesn’t connect to the server most times.
Then to add on top, every time you speak to health authorities they give different information. What is the right thing it do? Who knows?
Worst app I’ve ever used
Cannot login
Rang help desk several times - deleted, reinstalled many times. Waited 20 minutes- restarted phone. Anyway- I tried everything and it still won’t work.
Inability to logout
I have rang the support line and they had no idea how to handle this situation. I have even tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it keeps the older unique id active. Other than that, it’s a good app which needs to be enhanced.

Wait for it
But I like it and can see how it helps keep a track of how people are going without having to resort to quarantining them.
Good concept.
App does not load on iPhone 6s
Total waste of time and effort.

Bad User Experience.
If you add a phone number to your mySA GOV account, you will receive a text with your Unique Identifier.
The rest of the application functions well as far as I can see but this is some pretty basic user experience stuff that has been missed.
Something as simple as making a user confirm their details so they can add a missing phone number would have saved a lot of confusion.
I’m not blaming the developers. In all likelihood this app was rushed and so things were missed. What I am surprised about is that they haven’t patched this yet. It’s been live for two weeks.
Even something as simple as a “we’ve detected you do not have a mobile number associated with your MySA Gov account, please click the following link to add one so we can send you your Unique Identifier” would be better than nothing.
Happy customer!! Thanks SA Health
Might be good if it works
Terrible
Doesn’t work
App nor the tech support phone number work
MANY PROBLEMS
Better than a Medi Hotel
Some frustrations with the app
- the colour flashing when your face is being scanned. What’s the point of this?
-the cartoon effect of when your face is being scanned.
- facial recognition is near impossible if outside playing with children
- often takes multiple attempts to scan face.
- not sure what the app is comparing my face scans too as I’ve not provided proof of id with a photo
- should be a notification at the 10 and 5 minute mark if not checked in
Good first iteration
However, I have a few pet peeves with the app.
- check can sometimes fail and took up to seven attempts to actually check in
- the notification to check uses the default system notification sound so can be missed if another app is having a lot of notifications come through
- a single notification to check in is not enough, it should be multiple times in case you miss it.
- there should be a warning with regards to the use of flashing lights since it is a health risk to some
- the check in notification should clear itself if you have checked in to avoid panic of a missed check in
