No update for over 5 years!!
This app hasn’t been updated for over five years so it’s just a matter of time now before it stops working with the latest releases of iOS and then my Thermostat becomes obsolete and unable to control from outside my home….. 😏
App is frozen
The short story is that I can’t get the app to work. It’s frozen. Pretty reluctant to delete and reinstall since it appears to no longer be supported.
Is this App still supported?
Constantly offline have to delete and reload App but won’t connect to thermostat now. Notice no App updates for a year! Is this App still supported?

Unreliable
Frequently is ‘offline’ and inaccessible . Every time holiday mode is used the app needs deleted and re-downloaded as it won’t reset back to normal mode .
Useful for remote control
I have used this for a few years now. It allows me wide-ranging control of my holiday cottage heating from afar. I used to have problems with it dropping out on occasion which required the housekeeper to hard reset the stat (powering the boiler off) but I now believe that was a router issue - it hasn’t happened since moving to a better modern Wi-fi router. I would also like to see a history option and would like the functionality that has just been added to Neo for the stat to be included in Alexa routines.

Not really up to the job
Desperately needs an update. Very hit and miss if changes in the app are carried over to the heating system. No heating history. Very clunky app which just not good enough. Developers need to take a look at the Nest app which is superb.
Connection issues and lack of analysis
I have problems with the stats losing connection every now and again which is frustrating. Can’t they be developed to reconnect if this happens?
Also agree that some history/analysis would be useful. There are barely any updates which means you will lose out to competition eventually.

It does the job BUT.....
Could do with a revamp. I have 2 stats in my house., viewing them on my phone is like going to iPhone 4 formatting.. no sophistication about the app. But does the job. App is quite crude. Doesn’t have analytics.. and the Wake Leave Return Sleep is ridiculous, as comfort levels should be infinitely adjustable. And confusing if Stat is located in a bedroom zone.. as you don’t want Heating ON in the bedroom after WAKE up!! Cos your going to the living room/kitchen zone etc.

Fine when it works
The app is pretty easy to use most of the time. But whenever the Smartstat device experiences a network interruption it goes offline until I can power it off and on. This is annoying enough when I’m in the house, but a real problem when I’m away as the app becomes useless. I have two devices which both behave the same way, so it appears to be a design fault.

Good (web)app but it needs to be updated to fix some annoying bugs like when you set the away settings with 7 days and it save 99 days.
The history of the temperature with a graph likes the other Heatmiser thermostats will be a good addition to this app.
It was required for me to save it with node.js + MongoDB to have this feature.

The app refuses to pair with the Heatmiser... absolutely rubbish!
Great app and great thermostat!
Very happy, I would say having the ability to control the thermostat remotely without the cloud server would be ideal

Installed Thermostat with out any real problems, working and calling for heat from the boiler.

Nice easy to use app
It would be good if it showed internal / external temperature (from local metar station) over day / week / month / year etc and boiler usage.
For information, Program Mode (Weekday/Weekend, 24 Hour etc) can only be changed using the app. The thermostat itself does not allow Program Mode to be modified

Good but not perfect ...
Overall I'm very pleased with the app and the SmartStat. It's pretty easy to set up although installing a 2nd user and using Geolocation as well is not intuitive.
The app can be slow to respond and occasionally needs to prompted more than once. But having said that:
Buy it. There's nothing on the market that even comes close. A great piece of kit.
