Can’t get past the select your own location option. Nothing happens, can’t go to the next screen, can’t pick a location

We identified a bug where location lookups were failing for certain areas — particularly rural or coastal locations — which would prevent you from advancing past the location selection screen. We’ve since shipped a fix for this. Please update to the latest version and try again. If you’re still having trouble, reach out to us and we’ll get you sorted out right away.

Present date will take forever to load if inactive on the app for a while

Once great, not maintained

Used to enjoy this app and found it to be more accurate than not. Over the past year it became increasingly unusable, with error messages all over the place, and as of December 2025 the forecast dates are not updating. No response to my help inquiries, so I take it the developer has given up on the app. Makes me feel dumb for paying for it for as long as I did.

Thank you for your honest feedback. The app did have some real issues in late 2025. Good news is I just shipped a big update that fixes the stability problems and gets forecasts updating properly again. Give it another shot if you're up for it. I think you'll notice the difference.

Terrible

App doesn’t work at all except for throwing an error message. No replies from this business after 3 or 4 attempts. Maybe the app business isn’t for you?

Constant errors

I paid for this app and love that the quality of the visibility is rated but everytime I try to use it an error message displays and I have to close and reopen multiple times before it works. Reported the errors numerous times but no response/ resolution. I cancelled my subscription for this reason.

Don’t waste your money

This app is a total waste of money. It is always crashing or failing to update. I’m constantly getting error messages. I couldn’t tell you how accurate it is because I can only get an update about a 3rd of the time before giving up on the million error messages

Helio is a great app for anyone who loves sunsets 🌅 it provides accurate sunset times, weather conditions, and even golden hour details, which are perfect planning your day or snapping the perfect photo 📸

I love the customisable notifications—Helio sends a reminder before the sunset, which is perfect for making sure i dont miss a beautiful moment 😍

It also includes a community section where users share their sunset photos—which is a nice touch for inspiration ☀️

Overall, this is a perfect app for sunset chasers ❤️ 100% recommend !

Way off the mark

I’ve just started using it, unpaid at the moment, and it predicted the sunrise as fair quality 38% but it was absolutely glorious in my area in Australia. I would rate it a lot higher than 38% and definitely more than fair. Puts me off going premium.

Thanks for the feedback! Sunrise forecasting is trickier than sunsets since the model was originally built around sunset data, but I just released an updated forecast model that should improve accuracy across the board. Glad you caught a glorious one either way!

Great for filmmakers

This app has become invaluable for planning film shoots. I never schedule a shoot day without checking helio first.

Don’t bother

This app promises a small amount of information and delivers less! It’s advertised to “never miss another sunset”. Not much, but in fact, it doesn’t even deliver that. Weather Channel gives me the sunrise and sunset time. I’m deleting this loser.

The time

The time is always incorrect… because when si want to look at when the sunset is, it tells me that it was 12 hours ago, and that the next one is in two days… so please fix that

Failed engagement

Awful at predicting a sunset, I used it to set a time to propose to my partner, and I couldn’t back out, so went for it with an overcast sky and slightly raining, she said no, if it was the good quality 50% sunset you guys had promised it would have been a yes.

I love this app

I love this app! It helps me know if the sunrise or sunset has good quality which is what I love the most. I also like how it doesn’t locate your location, you type in your location. I would recommend this app.
