About

Heliosinger turns live NOAA solar-wind data into sound. DSCOVR sits about a million miles upstream of Earth. The app maps that plasma and magnetic field, plus GOES X-ray measurements and the Boulder magnetometer, into a small choir of vowel-formant voices. There is no demo track. When the sun is quiet, the sound is quiet. How the mapping works • Solar-wind speed → pitch • Particle density → vowel and harmonic richness • Bz, the north–south magnetic component → chord quality • Planetary Kp → beat What's included • Live sonification on the Listen tab • A live Sun visual with current telemetry and a short explanation of why it sounds the way it does • 15- and 30-minute timers that keep playing with the screen off • Storm and flare push alerts • A Home Screen widget, Lock Screen Now Playing controls, and a Live Activity while a timer is running • A six-second capture of the current sound and picture Heliosinger+ is $4.99 once. Not a subscription. It adds: • Background audio with no 30-minute cap • Session timers up to 8 hours • Spatial audio on supported AirPods • Aurora alerts filtered by a rounded latitude or a chosen region iPhone only. Headphones recommended. For awareness and ambient listening — not a safety, forecasting, navigation, or emergency tool. Use NOAA SWPC for operational space weather.
