They changed it. Now, you have to buy the membership just to review the words and characters you’ve already learned. Very disappointing and demotivating

not sure I will ever be good enough to have a conversation but the app is fun, well designed and good for my brain. My biggest complaint is that there is no PC desktop version which is a HUGE flaw. Who the hell wants to stare at a tiny phone all day?!

The best app! No AI!
I really love that this app does not use AI. I am so happy the HelloChinese team resisted the urge to add AI features - there is something so authentic and delightful about this app that AI could never replicate. I have tried every other Chinese learning app and HelloChinese is far and away the best. With other apps that use AI, I can immediately feel that something is off -- something missing in these apps, there is no human touch, and it's painfully obvious.
To the HelloChinese team, please keep doing what you are doing. Ignore the other apps with AI tutors, AI voices, and AI lessons -- I uninstalled all of them after discovering HelloChinese, and using them was utterly miserable.
