Bad getting worse
This app has become the attraction to two specific types of people, the shallow pretty girls who pose selfies upon selfies that bait users and the men chasing them and buying endless amounts of diamonds to stand out. It used to be a really good app in the past to meet genuine people and learn a language.
So many of my friends already deleted this app and honestly I’m soon to leave as well.

Change the Ads
Cool app. I’ve enjoyed using it and the opportunities it’s given me in learning a new language. But the ads are horrendous. So many inappropriate ads show every time I open the app. I was sitting in a cafe and an ad of women dancing inappropriately in tight leggings showed up without warning and I couldn’t skip it for a few seconds.

Banned 4-year Lifetime VIP user without evidence or manual review
I was a loyal user for 4 years and bought a Lifetime VIP subscription. My account was permanently banned based on false reports without giving me any evidence or human review of chat logs. Support only sends generic automated copy-paste replies and refuses to investigate. Zero respect for long-term paying customers.

Hellotalk is Greedy
When it comes to the minor side of hellotalk, do you expect us to be able to pay $30+ for a membership? and the membership duration is so short for such a high price. and okay, you guys used to have a free vip spin. but you changed the voiceroom time from 24 hours to 30 minutes? and we still get the same amount of ad rolls? this company is extremely greedy and clearly doesnt care about it's customers.

Will suddenly ban you after a day for no reason.

The app is okay. The people there will either talk to you or won’t. Some are rude, some are nice. My knot issue is how “money hungry” they are with he gip.. you can’t really do much if you don’t have VIP.. as a broke struggling student (at the moment) who wants to connect with other people to improve my language skills, it sucks.

About updating VIP perks
Since the VIP updated like, HT users was disappointed cause, before they love to spend there time to his friend and talking in other foreign people for too long, they change it, the time of VIP perks, instead 1 day VIP pass, and now , it’s 30 minutes, and my big question is? How about like someone want’s to learned more language, but they can’t practice there language that they want o learn cause, the time si too short, and also some people wants to learn english but they can’t spend there time cause it’s a 30 mins time? For VIP perks? And some of them, can’t afford the VIP cause they can’t buy VIP cause there’s no money, like poor people, that’s why they download this app cause they want’s to spend they’re time to talk they other country to learn any dailect, and after back then, when they change the time of VIP perks, some of them was deleted they’re Hellotalk apps, our suggestion is you should return the 1 day VIP perks pass. Cause 30 minutes it’s not enough to learn or talking in other country! This is my complain , Thank you!! And hope you return it the 1 day VIP pass. And have a nice day!

Thank you for your feedback. Due to rising costs, non-VIP users can access the voice room for up to 90 minutes daily. You can unlock an extra 30 minutes by watching ads or gain free time by hosting a room. We understand your concerns and appreciate your understanding as we work on improvements.
It‘s a scam. As long as you register several times, it is easy to be banned.
Update: Even if the official responds to me here, APP still doesn‘t allow me to re-register.
This App is easy to be blocked for discussing politics. I was exposed without talking about any political issues and didn't let me re-register.
You can’t get to know more people without spending money. They will repeatedly recommend the same person to you, and even deliberately limit the number of views.

Worth it
I can’t speak for every language, but as I attempt to learn Polish, this App has been the most useful tool. Being able to connect with native speakers to something that cannot be replicated.

Scammers and Fake Accounts
The development team and management do nothing to ban and prevent scammers or bad actors from using the app. I am willing to bet majority of the accounts are fake which kills any reason to use the app.
Very well made social app
I highly recommend this app to language learners who like meeting new people. It is not the most efficient way by any means but the motivation of talking to real people helps keep you consistent. A lot of people are on the app actually just to make friends, but you still find a handful of people trying to learn. The app does a good job of making people of similar interest easy to find, but it does take patience to find other users who are responsive. If you are hesitant, I would recommend trying for one week. The app isn't for everyone but it works for me.
