The site and app have gone downhill, support is a black hole
I’ve been taking lessons on italki since 2020. I had a complaint about how I feel they treated an amazing teacher of mine unfairly and prevented me from continuing my learning with him. I tried to register this complaint six or seven different ways. ZenDesk form, no confirmation. Support email, no answer. Support bot, claims I am being transferred to a human, human never arrives. Corporate email, nothing. I can’t so much as get an automated reply with a ticket number assigned. I’m beginning to question if any humans still work there. Do yourself a favor and use Preply instead.

Amazing app
This is how you learn. Duolingo is ok, but it’s not until you start speaking with natives on Italki that you really have a chance to learn a new language.
Deplatformed my favorite teacher
I loved iTalki until they deplatformed my favorite teacher Daniel B. I now do most of my classes on another platform after what they did to him. iTalki does not value their teachers or treat them well.
Great tutoring
I have been getting instructions from an italki tutor for several months now. She has been professional, courteous, and very helpful. Little by little, I am getting more comfortable and confident conversing in French. I highly recommend this service.
