Excellent and easy way to meet great language teachers.
You can quickly identify the type of teacher you want from their promotional videos, and the timing and pricing of lessons is explicit, easy to find and clear making language learning planning very easy.
The notification systems are fantastic, and you can link your lesson times to your own electronic diaries very easily.
I would encourage you to really use the practice learning lessons to find a teacher that suits your style of learning and lifestyle. Have a close look at the teacher’s schedule to check that it suits your own schedule. I’ve been using Italki for quite a few years now, and it’s always my go to place to find a new language teacher.

Italki Japanese Lessons
I have taken more than 90 Japanese lessons Hana Sensei. She is a kind, professional, and talented teacher! Yesterday’s lesson was amazing! I was able to speak in Japanese on a variety of subjects. Our lessons have enabled me to learn and develop my Japanese language skills … and reconnect with my family heritage!
I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful teacher. Hana Sensei is my favorite teacher ever!! I will return to Japan soon and be able to speak more easily with my cousin and my Japanese friends! If you want to learn Japanese, she’s the best!

You can get really talented teachers for a very affordable price.
Only docking a star because the video call functionality can be a little buggy and some UI feels clunky.

First of all, they don’t refund your money.
Second, it’s really hard to find a good teacher here. Many of the tutors don’t actually know how to teach. They just give you pointless exercises to fill up the lesson instead of helping you improve.
I even had a tutor who showed up looking stoned, wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. 🤣🤣🤣
This platform is a complete dumpster fire!
Absolute game changer to learn language
After using it for more than a months and a half, it’s just perfect for my needs. I was able to pick and choose among hundreds of differents Japanese teachers. Each teacher profile tells you what languages they can speak, allows them to introduce themself with a video and even shows you their pricing for their classes. So it was easy to compare them and find the perfect one for me both financially and how they teach.
The best things is that you always have access to a very discounted ‘trial’ class for any teacher, making it cheap to try a class with one of them to see if you want to commit or try another one.
