The Best Language Learning App
Italki is wonderful. There are so many options as far as choices of instructors and price points. I found my perfect teacher after about five or six trail lessons with others. Actually, the others were all good but I connected more with one in particular and I’m very happy. Scheduling lessons is a snap. I get reminders about upcoming lessons and the Internet connection is reliable. I’m extremely happy with Italki.

Great resource
We do most of our classes via Zoom or Google meets, but the access to so many languages and language teachers at affordable rates is AMAZING. We have been using italki for 3 years and I am still impressed with the service it provides. I would love to see the platform offer new teachers, I think there could be more options but not sure if they limit it like many websites do.

Sur Italki on trouve forcément le tuteur ou le prof natif qui nous convient. On organise les cours selon nos besoins et il y a toutes sortes de ressources gratuites en plus sur l’appli. Je recommande pour progresser rapidement.

Italki is easy to use with an incredible choice of experienced teachers to choose from to suit all ages, levels and pockets.
italki stole $50 dollars
I had 50 dollars on my account but I had not used italki for a while because of being busy with other stuff. That money just disappeared. italki just stole $50 and refuses to return the money. No other store or service in the world does that; nobody just deletes your account balance just because you didn’t use the service for a while.

There aren't any good tutors here for under $30. They're unqualified and have no education!!! They're constantly rescheduling lessons!!!! And the app itself doesn't offer refunds!!!! I don't want to waste my money, and I still have $150 left in my account.
Great connecting native speakers / meh UI/UX
Fantastic at connecting native speakers A+. Sorry to say it plainly but the solo practice and exercises on the app are not good - the UX/UI stinks and when compared to the gamification, tests and quizzes to Quizlet and other apps, it doesn’t hold a flame. During speaking exercises it will tell me to “capitalize” certain words… I mean, how, it’s a speaking exercise. The format, experience, and process of the testing feels like it’s from the 90’s. Please take lessons from other apps and improve your AI, your practice and exercises, and the UI/UX. If you’re just looking to connect and speaking with native speakers then this app is great.

Debit Card Payment
I want to use this platform, but italki literally will not take my money. Every single time I try to book a trial or a regular session, my payment fails.I have tried using my debit card directly, going through PayPal, and testing alternative payment methods. None of them work. My cards are completely fine and work everywhere else, so the issue is entirely on italki's end.It is incredibly frustrating to find a tutor you like, only to be blocked by a broken checkout system. If you cannot even process basic payments, you cannot run a functional service. Fix your system.

The site and app have gone downhill, support is a black hole
I’ve been taking lessons on italki since 2020. I had a complaint about how I feel they treated an amazing teacher of mine unfairly and prevented me from continuing my learning with him. I tried to register this complaint six or seven different ways. ZenDesk form, no confirmation. Support email, no answer. Support bot, claims I am being transferred to a human, human never arrives. Corporate email, nothing. I can’t so much as get an automated reply with a ticket number assigned. I’m beginning to question if any humans still work there. Do yourself a favor and use Preply instead.

Amazing app
This is how you learn. Duolingo is ok, but it’s not until you start speaking with natives on Italki that you really have a chance to learn a new language.
Deplatformed my favorite teacher
I loved iTalki until they deplatformed my favorite teacher Daniel B. I now do most of my classes on another platform after what they did to him. iTalki does not value their teachers or treat them well.
Great tutoring
I have been getting instructions from an italki tutor for several months now. She has been professional, courteous, and very helpful. Little by little, I am getting more comfortable and confident conversing in French. I highly recommend this service.
Making progress speaking French!
I live my French conversation tutor on italki. She makes me feel brave in speaking. Italki is easy to use too.
Difficult navigating
I find that navigating to the lesson/ video via the Classroom is cumbersome. We always default to Google Meet. This needs to be simpler!!
Great Experience
I have been taking Mandarine Chinese for over 6 months and I’m really loving this app. I highly recommend.
Good idea - poor execution
Italki is a great concept and a super way to connect teachers and student. However, the website can be hard to navigate, booking lessons is counterintuitive, and I feel the user experience could be improved significantly. I am glad that I connected with my teacher this way, who is superb, but I wish the user interface was more intuitive and easier to navigate.
