New iOS app is terrible. Can't send, set up spaces or anything. Oh, you can try, but it never sends or sticks. Time for an and upgrade.

Horrible user experience
Paying so much money each year for having an app not worth it, making it really uncomfortable sending and downloading files, and the web won’t work well in phones so basically you need to download this useless app
Frustrating
Web version is totally useless and does not work at all on mobile. The app is better and at least allows you to access galleries. Loading time is very slow (videos rarely play) and most functions do not work (rewind, forward, landscape, download to device gives error messages 75% of the time). A good concept, however the application is far from fully developed. Very glitchy and incredibly frustrating!!

Absolutely infuriating
I downloaded the app after not being able to get the website to work and the app is just and frustrating. Sometimes it’s will play landscape, but not always, or often really. Rewind or fast forward, forget about it. You will just fight the video and rage quit. As soon as I finish the videos I need to watch I will delete this app and never use this platform again. Absolutely useless. -10/10 do NOT recommend.
Update: tried reaching out to custom service and was met with an auto response telling me that if I wanted to receive help I would need to upgrade to a paid subscription. Your app is already difficult to use, I can not get help to see if there are tricks that make it work more smoothly, why would I ever consider paying to use an app that does not work!?

DOES NOT WORK
I tried to send a file and was not given the option to do it for free, so I was forced to buy one months subscription. And to my great surprise, the application does not work. At all. So I tried to request a refund the same day (yesterday August 1st 2025). And it gets denied. So I paid almost 17€ for a scammy page that does not work.

Useless to manage existing shares
Unless I’m missing something you can not change/delete existing shares. You can’t manage access, add or change a password after the fact.
Largely pointless
Tiny screen with less functionality than the website. Feels like a poor copy of a mobile app.
Not working properly
I’m trying to test this out but so far every time I try to create a space, it pretends to create it and then it just disappears. As of right now, the app is not working properly and can be very glitchy. Not too sure if I wanna keep this on my phone.
The best photo manager
I’ve used many photo platforms working in marketing & communications. Our agency introduced me to Hightail to share & manage images for a website rebuild in 2021 with 8 team members & it was perfect. It’s the best platform I’ve ever used & we continue to use its unlimited storage. The ability to see, store & share photos is awesome!
You have thumbnails, file size, ability to easily share links to individual images, groups or whole “spaces”/folders. It’s easy, flexible and far out surpasses DropBox, Google, SmugMug, Flickr, etc.

Doesn’t work
App only worked once. If I try to access videos again the message ‘mp4 video type is unavailable for preview’ appears. The website is not usable on mobile phone browser. So unless you have a computer this is a pretty useless service.
Utter Garbage
This app is so buggy and inconsistent. It’s by far the worst thing I’ve ever downloaded on my phone.

It’s so buggy I can’t view my files via the app so I resort to a web browser but sometimes they don’t load at all. Also, the way that the tracks are displayed once you click on it makes some nearly impossible to click the play button because it hides underneath the UR tab. It’s as if nobody within the company reviewed this app after creating it.

Terrible Performance
You cannot download videos from the app, nor can you access different file groups. Overall a terrible app that gets progressively worse with each update.

I’ve had access to hightail for years.. it wasn’t until recently with the updates did I start having trouble.
I cannot watch videos if my phone is on silent, I cannot put videos into full screen mode, I cannot download videos, I cannot seek on videos, I cannot play audio without keeping my phone unlocked the whole time, I cannot watch a video in miniplayer mode, I cannot listen to audio with the audio in the background.
Each update the app gets worse and worse.

This dog don’t hunt
Pro member. My login works for Hightail on desktop, but not on the app. Then, when you finally do get in, there are no records of sends. I am beginning to rethink my membership.
Worst Set-up Process
Worst set-up process ever. Got so frustrated with the setup process that I gave up! I really don’t need the file that was shared. I would never suggest or use this.
