Using two apps
So I purchased the entire Japanese app (blue tile with a symbol) from writing practice and this for reading practice both are very helpful with pronunciation as well!
This is a fun game and awesome tool.
I use this app alongside all of my university resources to help me along with my learning. What a great tool, I recommend picking it up at least once every day and playing for a few minutes! The speed of the game really reinforces the memory retention.
Only game that has helped me learn to read Japanese
I have tried probably close to 30 apps that claim to help you learn to read hiragana. This is the only one that has ever actually helped! Itโs fun, just difficult enough without being too hard, and best of all it sticks! Even after months of not doing any Japanese at all I can still remember most of the characters. I highly recommend this game for both children and adults!

Absolutely worthless
This app is some how worse on cell phone than the Nintendo Switch. Donโt get me wrong the Switch version is worthless to. But at least you have a controller option. For the most part it fails at teaching and rhythm by having you Cover up the whole screen to press a character.
There is so much more wrong with this. Just know I speak and read Japanese up to a N2 level easily. I love DDR, Guitar Hero, and pretty much every rhythm game ever made. I feel as if this app fails in both education and fun.

Great foundation for learning Japanese!!
I love this app because it makes learning the Japanese alphabet fun and engaging! Rather than just throwing a bunch of words at you like other apps, this one builds the foundation and helps you learn how to read and speak Japanese. For another great language learning app thatโs free, I very highly recommend Mango!
