In 1955 my grandfather Stanley “Bud” Smith and Mike Lawrence built the Coggon Livestock Sale Barn, and started selling livestock for farmers in the Linn, Delaware, Jones county area. After his passing, the business passed to my grandfather, and then my father. As the livestock market changed, my father was forced to change how the business moved forward. He moved from selling livestock to household goods and farm machinery, until I bought the business in April of 2011. Through the years I have sold everything from household goods to farm machinery and heavy equipment.
