Poor choice

Clunky, non-intuitive, difficult to add multiple devices frequent data dropout. Wish I hadn’t bought it.

Buggy, watering functions do not save properly, leading to water waste

I have 2 smart timers hooked up to 2 separate irrigation systems. Rain delay feature does not save in the ABC starts section. This means that after a heavy rainfall, the irrigation system will just start watering as normal instead of delay delaying it. The rain delay feature does not save extremely frustrating.

Doesn’t Work

The wireless watering system works fine on manual but does not start on the schedule which makes it a very expensive dud. Holmans customer support system is terrible (don’t even seem to have case numbers) and after nearly one month I still have no idea what I should try to fix it. Do not buy.

Extremely unreliable

Every part of the sprinkler systems are unreliable excessive battery usage device is going off-line the hub going off-line and just not responding and not watering the garden when it’s supposed to. The software UI is unresponsive and very buggy.

Weather station works well, but no desktop access is a major drawback

The Helios weather station hardware works well, and the app does a reasonable job, but being locked into a mobile-only app is very frustrating. There is no way to view Helios data on a desktop computer. The removal of Weather Underground integration has made this significantly worse - it was standard with a prior model which provided more data analysis/views/history. A basic web interface or third-party integration should be standard for a premium weather station like this.

Useful app but could be better

The Holman Home app is a very useful tool for irrigation management. Device control and scheduling work well, and the integration with the Helios weather station is particularly valuable for making smarter watering decisions.

One usability issue is the way rainfall data is currently visualised.

The rainfall graph appears as a line that rises and falls depending on rainfall each hour. However, it does not display accumulated rainfall, which makes it difficult to determine how much rain has actually fallen over a given period.

Because of this, users cannot easily see totals such as rainfall over the past 24 hours. The only way to estimate this currently is to tap individual data points in the history graph and manually add the values together.

A clearer and more informative approach would be:

• Display **hourly rainfall totals using a bar chart** (mm per hour).
• Provide a **cumulative rainfall line or total value** alongside the bars.
• Include clear totals such as **rainfall since midnight** or **rainfall since 9 am**, which aligns with standard meteorological reporting used in Australia.

This type of visualisation (similar to the rainfall tables used by the Bureau of Meteorology) would make the data far easier to interpret while still fitting naturally into a graph format.

The underlying data appears to be there — it just needs to be presented in a clearer way.

Absolutely Horrible

I use the app for holman rgb lights I cannot understand how poorly the system and app has been designed that it needs constant connectivity to keep lights on even though i can confirm that the controller has strong connectivity the whole system is a disaster even opening and closing the app while a scene is running can cause the lights to switch off what a horrible horrible system. Seriously I would love to know who in their right mind thought the design was ok or was this the cheap solution? Do you even use it ?

Frustrating at times

I only use the garden watering portion of the app and I love the app when it works but ….. trying to “go back” to previous screens after making a selection often requires closing the app and reopening it because it just won’t do it. I’ve had it on 2 different phones now and it’s always the same.
Frustrating is my best description.

Nice product, need HomeKit support

Be nice if this app has HomeKit support. Just a bit annoyed having one app for each smart device brand. Otherwise, it is quite easy to use.

Useless and a weather app

Totally unusable as a weather monitoring app.
I am unable to see past weather trends with any accuracy.
Daily totals reset each day at 9am and then I can’t see a numerical read out of the previous days rain fall total, I have to attempt to read it from a small line graph that make no sense at all.

Automation system

I bought the Holman tap timer and soil moisture sensor thinking that I would be able to use it. Automation doesn’t work. I received the triggered message, watering doesn’t happen. I communicated to Holman technical team via and emails and direct phone, nil fixed. The staff spoke over phone was not knowledgeable about the products and he advised me to use schedule watering system instead of fixing the problem. Not happy at all. My rating is 1 out of 10.

Weather station

Very hard to read the amount of rain for the week in the app could be made a lot better

Needs development

Decent app, but the history information is just terrible. You can’t even see the daily summary of rainfall and have to add it up manually from the line graph. Terrible

There’s not enough bug spray on the planet to fix this

What an absolute joke; the hurdles and hoops that one needs to jump through to get this system working are incredible
Junk, junk, junk!!!

Needs work

App deleted all devices as i was overseas so i couldn’t operate any of them, making this app and devices useless.
Not good enough

Holman Home App and WX1 WiFi Watering Timer

After several years of using the Holman Home App and WX1 WiFi Watering Timer, I can confidently say that both products have been instrumental in keeping my garden thriving without any hassle.

The Holman Home App has proven to be incredibly user-friendly and reliable. The app allows me to effortlessly control and monitor my watering schedule. Transitioning between winter and summer watering routines is a breeze; all I have to do is turn the schedule on and off according to the season which I’ve created initially.

The WX1 WiFi Watering Timer has been a game-changer for my gardening needs. It stands up admirably to the extreme heat of Adelaide summers, where temperatures can soar to 48°C. The timer is exposed to direct sunlight and continues to function flawlessly. The only maintenance required is ensuring the batteries are not drained, which is a task considering the benefits.

Overall,
I am 100% satisfied with both the Holman Home App and the WX1 WiFi Watering Timer. These products provide peace of mind, knowing that my garden will receive the necessary care with minimal effort on my part. Their reliability and ease of use make them indispensable tools for any gardening enthusiast.

Great tech support

I have been using a 3-point watering system with moisture sensors for over two years and it has been a great garden-saver as we travel a lot. A recent problem with a moisture sensor (as inevitably happens with electronic devices) has been patiently followed through by Holman remote support, finally remotely identifing an obscure problem and replacing product without question. Full marks for support, Holman!

Nothing connects

I have smart stuff elsewhere. This hub has never connected despite using the same wifi software as all the Chinese products. Threw it all away.

Holman Home App

The devices work well but the App is very basic. The Home page is particularly uninspiring.
