New in 5.8 * Share achievements and post eligible ones to the Celebration Board * Change the place on an existing visit * Tap Info version numbers to re-read update messages * Map Timeline shows the temple era next to the count Bug Fixes in 5.8.1: * Visit XML export/import is more reliable — photos are compressed so large backups can import, and dates use a stable format that works across languages * Saving a visit from a reminder or Home Screen quick action no longer crashes the app * Visits grouped under the wrong year * New profiles missing from the Home switcher until restart

Close to Perfect

There is very little to criticize—and the enhancements are welcome and inventive surprises.

My only minor grumble (not a murmur) is that I wish the watch app hadn't abandoned those who are challenged to justify a new watch to keep current with Apple's software caprices.

I completely understand your point about the Watch app. It’s frustrating when updates raise the bar in ways that make it harder for people to stay current without upgrading their device, and I don’t want that to limit who can use the app. I’ll look into lowering the device requirements for the Watch app and see what’s possible in a future update. Your feedback is genuinely appreciated—thank you for taking the time to share it.

Glad I found this

Family Search stops keeping track of the number of coordinates that an individual completes at 3000. In 2024 I was 120 ordinance is short of 3000. In 2025 I estimate that I did about 5000, however, it frustrates me because they’re not keeping track of them. I don’t feel like I get credit for what I do so with this new app, I will be able to keep track of what I accomplish.

Genuinely Awesome

I love to use the app to teach geography to my daughter. We will pick a temple and zoom in, talking about continent, country, state/territory, city. Then look at the pictures through the more info link. There are always timely updates and it is well managed.
