Oh gawd - please…

One thing - please - update firmware to NOT reset the controller on wifi errors - just poll to reconnect. If a user really needs a reset, they can press and hold both buttons on the hub per the manual. This is by far the worst possible thing you have added and never fixed in this app - likely generating 99% of your complaints.

UPDATE: If you’re not going to fix these problems, then please consider pushing the firmware and app to GitHub so someone else can.

Quiet Cool replacement

Works on my Quiet Cool whole house fan. Same as old app.able to use my fan on multiple devices again. Thanks
P.S. if WV-xxxxx shows back up within three minutes of trying to connect hub to home network then you're choosing wrong security. It wasn't the default "W??" It's the other one. Scroll to choose during setup. After WV-xx disappeared to connect to my Comcast network it literally took 30 minutes for the hub to show up. Be patient don't keep resetting like I did !! Lol, frustrating I know.

Does not work

No problems connecting at first, although connecting to the fans WiFi is weird and clunky - why not Bluetooth??? Now, I can’t connect at all, even deleting and reloading app doesn’t work anymore. This app is terrible, save yourself the trouble and just install a hardwired switch.

Horrible App

Ever since quiet cool upgraded or switched to this app we are constantly having to reconnect the controller to our WiFi. It’s gets old. This technology is outdated and should work better than this. Wish we had a manual switch at this point, but unfortunately it’s one or the other.

Still not working

Yes, this is the second review I’m leaving for this app because it. Is. THAT. Bad. Coming from someone who never writes reviews, this should really hold extra weight. Constant error messages. No response from the company to help. The last time I interacted with their support team, I was told I wasn’t close enough to the unit. Total BS. I was IN my attic. I’m afraid I have to get the wired system simply because this is straight up UNUSABLE. I was so happy with my previous setup. This is super disappointing. How can it get that bad so quickly?!! Do yourself a favor. DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. SYSTEM. It’s worthless.

No self-respect. QuietCool hates you.

Hello! I bought the most expensive QuiteCool 18 months ago. This is the graveyard where they send their past customers. We’ll be here waiting for you, future QuietCool victims.

Awful- improve your stability

This app is worse than its predecessor. It needs to be deleted and downloaded again about every 3-5 days in order to connect over its limited WiFi signal. Virtually useless and would’ve been better to have install a hardwired switch.

Terrible app

App works for a while and then stops working with a “Network Error” message. Everything is set up correctly; it just stops working. Seriously needs some work!

WiFi set up

This is the most frustrating app to get set up with WiFi to the phone. Every year it’s a struggle. When connecting to the units WiFi I get the message “password Incorrect” I use the myfan password. I’ve restarted my phone, delete the app and reinstall. I thought with the new app that it was switched to in April 2020, it would be less of a struggle. Nope...even more so than before. Please update this and fix the horrible glitches.

The system needs updating

Although the unit can be used as a stand-alone hub, the basic mechanism is to access the unit’s WiFi and use the app to control the fan. According to the developer, it is possible to network the unit to the internet router, however, the unit cannot handle WPA2. It’s difficult to understand why since most routers nowadays used the more secure option. WPA was surpassed in 2005. In addition, WPA3 should be coming up next year. The other problem is that the units WiFi signal is weak at best, and the signal is easily lost throughout the house. Still, it’s better than having to run upstairs to turn the switch on.
