This thing sucks
The app works maybe 15% of the time. Nothing ever connects. I could go on forever please don’t use this app
I gave up on it
I found the app was cumbersome and didnt link up with all my smart home devices very consistently. I just use the apps now that come with the devices. Much more reliable and more streamlined in their use. Come on apple. Do better.
Broken
Apple updated the app so that when you have smart light bulbs connected to both Alexa and Apple now you get non stop security notifications that your light bulbs have joined another family called Alexa. Had to turn all my notifications off. Horrible QA here.
Garbage
Absolute trash of an app. Your devices don’t communicate well at all, with one another. Overpriced. Underwhelming performance and OVERwhelming troubleshooting process.
Minimal support in the admin threads. Minimal info on setup and what to do if you get a red ring on a HomePod. Apple TV, useless with home app.

Not responsive
I regularly struggle because the hub regularly says devices aren’t responding.

There could never be a smart home act better than this. You help me with my everyday life super fast automation. I can turn on any lights any air conditioning the shower or maybe even the fridge

HomePod Audio Just drops
HomePod Audio Just randomly goes silent, I can see the audio progress going, HomePods on full blast but can’t hear nothing. This is an awful experience
Difficult to add accessories
I continually have issues adding accessories directly to Home. Even when they say compatible with home. I recently purchased a 4 pack of WiFi plugs. Added the first one with no issues but it won’t add the rest. Rebooted phone and still won’t work. It shouldn’t be this hard.
What can you even do with this app
It’s like a basic template, can’t do anything .
It’s Very glitchy
Being an Apple person and having all Apple products I feel trapped using this Home app. I regularly can’t access my products. At the moment it says all my Philips Hue products are not available. But I can access them all perfectly well via the Hue App.

It’s horrible. It constantly un syncs. Beyond frustrating.
Won’t keep shared home
The Home works great on the main owners phone. It doesn’t work for anyone I share the home with. I share it with the family and it will show on their device then it vanishes from their devices. Sometimes it’s on their devices for a day and sometimes it vanishes almost instantly. We’ve tried everything and can’t get it to work. When shared family members can’t turn on and off light switches why bothering having it.

Video will skip when watching footage
Not sure how to explain this review, but every time I try to rewatch footage the video doesn’t play, and when it does “play” the footage isn’t even been played but every footage recorded is being skipped every second. An example would be it recorded 10 videos in 2 hours, but when I tried to rewatched the 10 videos, it will show a picture/thumbnail instead of the recorded footage, and it will play for 1 second and skip into the next video and play for another second. Meaning 10 “videos” or more like 10 “pictures” were played in 10 seconds instead of 3 minutes of videos

How do you make such a bad app?
Every other company is so far ahead of Apple in every single way with home automation. In the latest of annoyances, scenes aren’t actually caring about the selected color of a light at all.

A neglected product
Homekit secure video is probably one of the worst solutions on the market.
Requires a degree in computer science to keep it working
When Apple Home is good, it is very very good, and when it is bad, it is horrid. 3 weeks into an upgrade to my network, and I still haven’t managed to fix the connection issues thrown up by Apple Home’s lack of connectivity. Homepods connect patchily, hue bulbs drop out and don’t respond when simple changes are made… Put simply, this software needs a complete overhaul.

Requires keychain on, and it is…
… but I can’t get past that splash screen! There is literally nothing I can do with the app other than press the “turn it on” button and go to see the setting is already on. Absolute waste of a pit of HomePods if only one person’s phone can run the Home App…
Forced App
This is an intrusive app by force. It shows up on my message bar daily, when I download, I need to agree to add a bunch of things. My other app now won’t work unless I activate them. To activate this, I have to expand my iCloud. It’s a needlessly annoying app.
