Best Free Home Maintenance App

I've tried other home maintenance apps and they were either too complicated or hid everything behind a paywall. HomeBeacon's free plan gives you everything you need to manage one home like smart task scheduling, reminders, full maintenance history, and even equipment and materials tracking so you always know what you have and what each job needs. It's clean, intuitive, and just works. If you own a home, this app is a no-brainer.

Great App!

I've tried a few different apps to stay on top of home maintenance and most of them are either too complicated or too basic. HomeBeacon hits the right balance. Setup was quick — I added my home, selected my maintenance schedule, and it started sending me reminders without me having to micromanage every detail.
The equipment tracking is genuinely useful. Being able to store warranty info, manuals, and maintenance history in one place has already saved me time when something needed service. The seasonal reminders are well thought out and the mobile app makes it easy to check things off on the go.
Free plan is legitimately useful — not a watered-down demo. Highly recommend for any homeowner who wants to stay proactive without the mental overhead of building their own spreadsheet system.

Highly recommended!

I’ve really enjoyed using HomeBeacon. It helps me keep track of all the little home maintenance tasks that are easy to forget, and the reminders make it much easier to stay on top of things. I also like that it provides suggestions for the materials needed for different projects, which saves time when planning repairs or upkeep. Overall, it’s ab extremely useful, well-organized app that makes homeownership feel a little less overwhelming!

Easy to learn, incredible useful

Great app for keeping up with home maintenance. The customizable plans and suggestions make it easy to know what to take care of and when. Notifications are well space, not overwhelming.

I also like being able to log materials, my equipment, and see a full record of past work. It helps me stay organized and keeps everything in one place.

Very easy to use and has become part of my regular routine.

Does not work

I put all of the required data in to create the home and during address search he found my home but the data provided was not accurate. For example my home is a two story home and they have it listed as a single floor home. Once created it would not let me go further. It kept insisting that I add an additional home and for a cost. Beyond that I have no idea who good the app is because I cannot go any further. Rather disappointed considering its 5.0 rating.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I'm sorry for the frustrating first experience. You found a real bug, introduced in version 0.10.0: after creating your first home, a stale data object was causing the app to get stuck in a 'create a new home' loop. That's on us, and it's now fixed in version 0.10.2. In the meantime (and for anyone else who hits this before updating), a quick workaround is to fully close and reopen the app. That clears the state and lets you continue normally. On the home details: the initial data we pull from the address lookup isn't always perfect from our MLS source, so things like floor count can come back wrong. All of those fields are editable, and we're always working to improve the accuracy of that lookup as well as the user experience around customizing the data from that source (we've included some more improvements on this in the new version as well). If you're willing to give it another try on 0.10.2, I'd love to hear what you think once you get past that first screen. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback, it genuinely helps us make the app better.

So helpful for new homeowners

This app has been incredibly helpful as a first time homeowner. I wasn’t always sure what maintenance needed to be done or how often , and this made everything so much clearer. Easy Functional Home Maintenance Tool

Just downloaded this app as I really needed to start keeping track of my home maintenance (Not just in my notes on my phone). Have been really pleased with the recommendations and steps to perform each task. User interface is really clean and very easy to use. With a nice KPI style interface to show home health and when I am on and off track.
