Very restricted
Customer is given very basic information, all the advanced info goes to the installer, there are no integration options for getting any data out either.
There are no contingency plans for cases where your installer goes bust, apart from transfer to a new installer (how that would work in practice, even Homely support don't kmow).
The UI is clunky, e.g. it's not possibly to amend a recurring schedule or delete the recurring schedule you either have to change each day or delete each day and start again.
Smart grid functionality (which is built into my heat pump with it's oem comtrols) is an extra paid feature in Homely.
overall not recommended.

Too restrictive
Far too restrictive and risky for the end user who’s actually paid for the controls and has it installed in their home. As others mentioned, all you can do essentially is change schedules. No legitimate access to COP data, no flow temp data. No ability to change max or min flow temps. You will be wholly reliant on the proactivity of your installer (what if they stop trading?) and the reasoning from homely seems to be that end users simply couldn’t understand it and such information needs specialist knowledge. A hugely frustrating system, that could actually be quite good .

Good system, weak app
I’ve had this for a few months and can’t fault the system itself, all working well. As others have mentioned, the lack of access to any data is a big downside. The installers can see a lot, but we just get a snapshot of current state. I also think that the lack of any manual controls with the system makes this app critical, and while it works ok most of the time, it doesn’t feel like it’s ready to be a key part of my house’s heating infrastructure. Nor do I want people to have to call me to ask me to boost the hot water!

No control for the user
Homely gives no control to the customer. It’s an app to help installers cover issues. The customer has no visibility of any issues or the ability to conform where the heat pump is not working correctly. No ability to change flow temps or update weather compensation curve. It’s your heat pump, you should have some control and the data. Check this before you buy. Check competitors as they are much better

Can’t access my data
I would love this app but unfortunately I can’t access MY data to see performance. In fact I have to look at the app for my solar panels to see my kWh use and guess the use on the ASHP. Not only is the interesting information, it becomes essential when things aren’t working as they should be.
Easy and simple to use (too simple for the nerds)
We’ve just a heat pump and Homely installed and so far it’s been great. Easy to schedule hot water. Will have to wait and see how the heating is when it gets a bit colder outside.
Only downside I’ve found so far is that I can’t see any of the flow temperatures/COP info which I’d find really interesting. I don’t know whether this has been hidden intentionally but as suggested by another reviewer, it would be great to have an advanced view where you can see all the detailed information the installers can see!

Need more control
The App is too simple and masks a lot of what is going on in the background. It’s MY central heating system / air source heat pump and I want visibility of what is going on. The app just just doesn’t give me a view of the essentials. I can’t even view, let alone control my flow temperature. Not good enough!!
Updated review. A lot of the early concerns have been addressed in the recent and very welcome last two updates. Would still be nice too see flow temperature though (maybe in an advanced settings view ?)
