Easy to use. Can do pretty much everything in the app as on the webpage.
They ramp up fees and offer a bunch of unattractive opportunities recently. I doubt any of them would be funded, given the high fees on both ends.

Awesome Main St Investing
I invested in a local soup and sandwich shop here in Pittsburgh. Being able to physically walk into the business I invested in is an unparalleled experience. It is the first time i felt like my investment mattered to a real person doing real work.

Don’t bother
Don’t bother downloading. Concept sounded good but their execution isn’t. If a company you fund decides not to pay, Honeycomb basically walks away. There doesn’t appear to be many protections for the lenders. Even simple steps like issuing the company refusing to pay a 1099 so that the IRS can go after them for the ill gotten gains isn’t done. Out of five investments, one paid back. Other four either no payment, just small qtrly payment or in limbo.

THIS APP IS A SCAM STAY AWAY!!!!!!
I downloaded the Honeycomb app and followed all the setup instructions, but it won’t let me invest in any businesses due to an identity verification failure. I contacted their support team on October 11, 2025, and still haven’t received a response. If this is how Honeycomb treats its users, the app is useless, and I don’t recommend anyone waste their time downloading it.

Venmo for strangers. No protection.
Tried it out on a local business. Invested $1000. Business met their goal (it works kinda like go fund me). Then the business closes two months later. Does not pay back the investment. Honeycomb WILL NOT help you get that money back. I’ve contacted Honeycomb multiple times over the last several years. YEARS. And they won’t contact the business. They won’t pressure them to pay the money they owe investors. They won’t help you at all. Might as well just download Venmo and send money to the first person you see for all Honeycomb seems concerned in helping you out.
Oh, and does it stop them from sending you spam and asking you to invest more with honeycomb? No, of course not.

The platform is being inconsistent recently. Deals' info pages get sloppy and many of them don't have videos anymore. Moreover, I found some deals don't participate in early bee invest, and the customer service ignored my email inquiry. Anyway, it just used to be better and more trustworthy but now I'm not sure.

Beware
Have invested in six businesses. Everything is fine as long as businesses make loan payments. As soon as they don’t Honeycomb is nowhere to be found, and you have to hire a a lawyer to fight for your money. Last one loan papers signed were not very enforceable. These were the standard forms. Also app says payment in progress and takes 2-3 weeks or longer to get my payment. Are the playing float game. So far 2 of 5 investments have defaulted or are way behind. One after only two interest payments. Took me minimal research to find their Facebook page showing still in business but honeycomb couldn’t be bothered. Haven’t invested since
