Warning: lite is not offline
First time I went to use it after having arrived in Hong Kong was the first time I got the pop up window saying "the lite version cannot be used offline". Epic fail. The good news is Hong Kong has maybe the best and least complicated subway in the world. I just closed the app and used the subway without it. It was no loss. When you're getting the app for the express purpose of using it offline, and there are no in app purchases listed and there is a single clause about 'not offline' half way down the list... anyway. I will say, I used the Tokyo version and it was absolutely brilliant! I flew around the city with the Tokyo app! So I don't want to malign this one too much. I'm sure if I'd gotten the chance it would have been great. The irony is, I would have happily paid the cost of the pro version up front had I known it was the offline option. By the time I was in Hong Kong and discovered the problem, it was too late/difficult to upgrade with my limited roaming data.
