Cannot use most of the app without paying

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry you have had a bad experience with the app. We are trying to improve it in a daily basis. As you may know there are many revenue models within the apps and we have decided to use the freemium model (free to download with locked content). We have never implied anything other than that. Even if you look at the app store page, it says that the app contains In App Purchases and it shows a price for each one of them.

Waste of time

I downloaded the paid version and couldn’t tell if anything had changed. Maps were seriously old looking and lacked detail. Free version is ok for the content but not worth the download. I’ve just used offline version of google maps works a million times better

Could be a good app

It is a pity that the add to purchase the £3.99 version slides in every minute or so, and that you have to remove it. It doesn’t help for the customer experience. In other apps the free version at least let you have a nice smooth experience, although you know that you are missing more because you didn’t pay.
As I said, could be a good app if you pay £3.99. As I didn’t, I have to delete it because the adds doesn’t let you even read any of the articles.

Better off using a search engine

There’s a large collection of data here that, as a traveler, I didn’t find to be particularly relevant. You get quantity over quality and like another reviewer pointed out, it does feel like information has been ripped from Wikipedia articles. It is verbose to the point of highlighting historical climate data, which I’m betting most tourists will find irrelevant, so you have to do some sifting for the info you want, whilst swiping away the full-feature advertisement that slides in to fill the the screen every few minutes or so. I can’t comment on the paid content, but don’t bother with the free version.

I paid 3.99 for the upgraded version and IT NEVER WORKED AT ALL. Every time I opened it it says I had to download again and that would take 10 minutes and then didn’t work anyway. I want my 3.99 BACK!!!!! I tried restore purchases and still NOTHING!!!!!

The reason behind this is for travelers to be able to enjoy everything in an offline mode without paying for roaming charges while they travel. Even being able to use geolocalization capabilities such as GPS or Augmented Reality without being connected to your cell phone provider. Poor attempt at charging for Wikipedia / Wikitravel content

The content of this app is largely restricted unless you pay for the in-app purchase. It seems to be almost 100% copied and pasted from Wikipedia / Wikitravel. Apps like this shouldn’t be allowed on the App Store.

Should really be a paid app

I only spent about five mins trying to use this app but it seems to be a useless unless you purchase the maps or itineraries. 3.99 for the maps seems pricey given you can get them for free online

I'm not sure about all the glowing reviews, but none of the maps are free. Every item I click requires a $3.99 purchase. Deleted right away.

False advertising

False advertisement. Advertises as a free app with offline map. You need to pay to access anything if real use including the map. The free aspect are some stock photos and a short blurb about Hong King. Waste of time and delete straight away.

Not free at all

Not free at all. Demands payment to even open and view. I suggest you avoid at all cost.

Cool app

This Hong Kong guide is a great app to f you are planning to visit the city. It provides all the great tourist spots that is a must see. This app is great because you do not have to carry around an actual travel guide. I recommend it to all the people planning to visit East Asia soon.

Absolutely Stunning Images!

This Hong Kong guide is perfect! This app includes some of the most beautiful images of Hong Kong I've ever seen. I love how I can click on the photos and information about that location pops up. The menu looks good too. I like the images tab on the menu the most. Overall, this a very good app with no issues.

Cool offline guide

Since this app has the feature of an offline map, this is useful as Hong kong guide travels. I can use this one for my Hong Kong travels as well as this will be a good guide for my friends who travel frequently in this beautiful country. Enjoy offline city map

City map have been always a challenging problem for me just because I don't have internet access all time to download map. But with the help of Hong kong guide, I could easy to navigate with the offline city map. Frankly speaking, the app is unexpectedly great and really effective in daily life.
