Great App for Derby

Great app for your derby pics

Great so far

First day of using this app and already hit the pick six at Mahoning Valley!! Keep ‘em coming baby!!!!

Consider

Considering all options is important when betting at the track and this tool is one that I use for this consideration

Can’t stop winning!

Cha Ching! 💰💰💰Three winners alone yesterday and five more the day before. These guys must have a crystal ball or something. A few more winners and I’m buying a new Porsche. Try it and you too will be cashing lots of win tickets just like me! WooooHoooo!!

Great app

Great app for any horse racing fan. Nathan is great as well. Very passionate about horse racing. Would recommend.

Old outdated AI pick system

This app hasn’t received and update in over a year this past May 2024. The AI is left on autopilot and most likely has not been monitored or updated either. It hits so very infrequently that you definitely suffer more losses than wins. Have paper tracked all premier and best bets to have a total loss over all. Barely a 3.5 percent win on long shot picks.

Hi, I've updated the server-side application several times this past year and as recently as today. The client app that pulls in the picks hasn't needed to be updated yet, but the back-end algorithm receives regular updates. I will be updating the client version soon to include and display results and more advanced features. Handicapping horse racing is both a science and an art, and long shots are inherently difficult to hit consistently. No system can be 100% accurate, but we're always striving to improve. Thank you for your feedback. Nathan

Very Helpful

First off handicapping is taking past data and applying it to a future race. It is definitely an art not science, if it were a science then a computer programmer would develop the logarithm for a 100% winning app. But it’s not, so the art is an educated swag. This app definitely deserves to be on your tool belt as it very frequently makes me look at horses I wouldn’t have and other times validate my choices. Of course there are the times that I just choose a race and go with the picks. If you use this app and have no self understanding then you are at the mercy of the racing gods, but if you understand the concept of handicapping and use this as a tool you may just have more good days at the races than bad.

The one area I’d live to see an improvement in would be exotics with a suggested card, like Golden Hour, Cross Country, best bet Hi5’s or pick 6’s.

Thanks for the good review. I personally think the quick picks in the app are good for newer players who just want to go out to the track to have fun without having to do handicapping. I do the work for them, so they can go have fun and possibly make a profit for the day or at the very least break even if playing every race which is what most people want to do when they go out to the track. Usually anyone using the picks will come close to breaking even for the day playing every race, which is better than most new players can hope for I'm constantly working to improve the picks for advanced and new horseplayers. I use back testing to make them as profitable as can be for players at all levels but it's always best to incorporate the players own opinion when playing. These picks rely on statistics and back testing to come up with the most consistent picks possible so that small and large players can have more fun. I'll be adding a Results section to both the mobile and web app soon with more details for the previous days results in addition to adding recommendations for Doubles, PIck 3, 4, 5, and 6's. The results ROI is based on the minimum bet for the wager. For example a 3 horse exacta box at the minimum $1 mark is $6 Total. This is why I provide Return on Investment Percentages in the results, Bet $1 or bet $100 the ROI Percentage will not change. The Confidence ratings have proven helpful and more accurate through back testing because those races have more experienced horses and I have more data to work with versus Maiden races with a lot of first time starters where all I have is workout reports, trainer stats, and breeding. Feel free to email me directly with for any more clarifications and I'll be happy to incorporate new ideas into the app. Hope this helps and good luck at that races! Nathan

Update on My Previous Review

You NEVER know what your gonna get. It’s complete lottery.

So may horses evenly matched, pretty much all very low odds, it is hard to place a bet on winner.

The odds are so low you are pretty much forced to play accumulating bets.

YES, they do sometimes have their winners! But again it’s a complete lottery, it can be the placed horse that wins, or the horse they expect to come 3rd.

What this app does is just slightly narrow down your chances by a very small margin.

I’ve lost count of the Very High Win bets that have NEVER come in.

If you have money to play with then this is OK for a bit of fun.

If not stay clear.

Don’t have all the tracks

It don’t have all the tracks to choose from. Miss out on prairie meadows

won big time!!

great app with great picks!

Somewhat useful

you do have enough information to create your own combinations and if you don’t follow the precise combinations, you’re more likely to win. Whatever you do, do not follow the predictions as listed and you should use your own predictions based on the data provided.

Response from developer

Thank you for the review. I'm working on an update now that will provide more data and detail about the picks, including Power Ratings to help with comparing the different horses, etc. Check back soon. All the best, Nathan

Bad picks

Nice layout but premium are not good at all — 1 star for layout and that is a stretch

Have fun at the track!

Nobody likes loosing and this app will help you think less and win more!

OMG!

I usually struggle with betting on a horse that wins so I’ve tried every app possible and I still somehow mess it up (which may just be a me thing) but this app was easy to understand and helped me FINALLY pick a winner 10/10!!

Great tool to place bets!!!

They are awesome, I wish I knew about the app longtime ago, absolute genius!!!

Grandpa Hobbie

Tried the app and purchased Saratoga my favorite track, I do okay with free tips, but for using the horse racing picks for Saratoga I was surprised, they picked a nice LS and had a few trifectas, don’t expect them to be perfect remember it’s horse racing. Good picks try it tomorrow

Helpful

Useful app if you are a enthusiast.

Don’t know what I’m doing wrong?

Which races should one bet on? Seems like The few I’ve won using the subscription only return small amounts. For example a PIMLICO win returned $3.15 for a 50 cent 5 horse bet, which cost $2.00. Results seem to be true for both WIN/Place bets and boxed exacta, trifecta & superfecta bets. Should we just bet during the triple crown races, or what?

Response from developer

Hi, the payoffs will be better depending on the size of the field. Unfortunately most of the races through the week have pretty small fields of 6 or less horses which makes it hard to get a better payoff. Triple Crown races like the ones this coming Saturday at Belmont should be better, especially the Turf races will have bigger fields. Email me for help: nathan.prather@horseplayertoolkit.com

KY Derby picks

Great pics for Derby day! Hit two exactas and a couple of the suggested long shots came in. Really added to my handicapping.
