Unstable and unusable

First the app constantly crashed. Then the app constantly goes into offline mode and prompts you to sign in multiple times a day. Log has database issues and items will randomly disappear that were logged. Not worth the subscription; look elsewhere

Hound helped extend my dogs life

I care for an elderly dog who has had some GI problems and tracking his food precisely has made a big difference. Hound accomplishes this simply and effectively, helping me count his calories and track his bowel movements. I tried several different apps and this one does the job simply and effectively without unnecessary requirements.

Love it

Edit: I had left 3 stars before due to an update taking away a crucial feature.
Turns out it was there, just in a new place (it would be helpful to have a pop-up or demo of what changed).
But as I see now the feature didn’t go away, I’m changing my ratings to 5 stars because it’s a EXCELLENT solution to keep the whole house on the same page with your pet(s)!

Hi, I’m sorry you’re not enjoying the new update. The quick select time feature aims to allow you to input logs more seamlessly. If you wish to input a custom time, instead of one of the preset options, scroll to the bottom of the menu and select “Custom”. This will allow you to specify an exact time, as it was before the update.

I have been using this app for a year now and loved it till the last update. It was better when you could insert the exact time.

Need Offline Mode

This app is good for most part. 1 thing I didn’t understand is why we have to be connected to a server just to log our data? Please make it able to log our data OFFLINE as the adventurous ones go places without reception in the mountains and rivers. Not everyone wants to be in the city connected to WiFi or cell connection. Please make it able to log OFFLINE. Then when reception is available it can then upload the log that was stored OFFLINE.

UPDATE: 11/18/23

I cannot access the app because it says the server is down and can’t connect to my account through Apple ID. This is a good app, too bad there is issues with being able to connect offline. App is not usable.

Hound saved our carpet!

We have two dogs that caught kennel cough at the groomer. The vet put them on a steroid that made them very thirsty. Our previously house trained dogs started pee’ing all over the house. Aargh! So I downloaded Hound and set it up to remind me to take them out every 45 min. It was a huge effort, but it worked. After a week, their dosage went down and they didn’t pee so much. I could take them out every 1.5h, and not have accidents. Whew. The repeated reminders were a huge help.

Beware the Update

The app has been useful, and while I do appreciate the latest update, beware that it did overwrite all my logged data unexpectedly.

SO much potential and great start!!

I’m so excited to see what this app will develop into! So far it’s been very user friendly and is great for people wanting to be the best pet parents possible.

My one suggestion for development is to allow custom actions to be saved. My 12yr old pug has joint pain that I want to start tracking (hence searching the app stores and finding this). It stinks having to type “pain monitoring” every time.

Really good

This app is just what we needed. It does a great job keeping a log of our dog’s schedule. Great to know that the developer is already working on a server version that will allow to sync between my wife.

Keeps crashing

The site has crash 3 times for me in less than 6 months! Loses all the data & you have to start over again! Don’t use, it’s a waste of time!

The app resets once you exit

I love the concept of the app but after spending time setting up my dog and reminders, as soon as I close the app and reopen it everything is reset to how it originally looked (preset to Bella as an example). I’ve tried to set up the app twice and each time it gets erased. That’s a bit of a waste of time. My pup takes medicine twice a day, walks four times a day, and gets fed twice a days, that’s a lot to have to keep setting up every time I open the app back up.

Great Tracker !!

With a hectic household of kids and dog - daily reminders/tracking of food, potty and walks really makes coordination easy by removing the guess work. Has anyone taken the dog for a walk? Did Walter eat today - once or twice? Did he number 2 this morning? Constant checking with everyone as we are on the move to school, practice, games etc has now been eliminated and is a breeze with the HOUND app!
