How Are We Related? User Reviews

All the Wiggas in my house, I broke up with their “MUhLVnAH”

I’m not taking care of people who I left a home behind for “fight for that” peace and light grand rising. Others? Look if I care but the last time I dated was in 06.

This is kind of genius...

I’m not getting any of the app crashes other people are mentioning - iOS 18.1.1, iPhone 16 Pro. Works like a charm. Here’s my old review:

I'm often at a family event where we get seated at a table with someone related that we don't know. The way it works is that you fill in 2 blanks, such as 1) "if my X" is 2) "your Y" then hit submit and it shows you how you are related. It would be great if that's all it did, but since I sometimes don't even know that much, it's even better than that. For "X" I put in "mother's uncle's grandson" and it immediately reduces that down to "second cousin." Sometimes, that's all I want to know. If that is the other person's nephew "Y," it tells me that person is my first cousin once removed. That sounds counter intuitive somehow, but it works! Now I can imagine being at a wedding, and someone I meet says "how are we related?" And everybody whips out their phones... lol

Interesting to use

Interesting app to use and of quite use, however slightly unfortunate the way there isn’t more detailed and even simplified instructions for how to use the app that can be easy enough for a range of different audiences to understand, as well as being a bit unfortunate the way that there can be some in-app ads included.

Disappointed

I loved the original app we’re related!

Failure

Whenever I type in a relationship, it either doesn’t comprehend or it simply closes out of the app. When I downloaded this, I thought it would be helpful to quickly figure out relationships for my genealogy work, but it’s just a waste. One star.

Kicked Out Of The Famly

Every time I put relatives in I get booted from the app.

To gamers

If I could I would leave zero stars

This app doesn’t work

I’ve tried 3 times to use it. When I click “submit” it boots me out of the app.

I’ll leave it on my phone for a while, just in case someone takes care of the bug.
I gave it 1 star for it being a great idea, but it’s useless on my new Apple phone.

Crushes

This app crushes every time I try using it.

Doesn’t work on my iPhone

Couldn’t get it to work

Doesn’t work

Handles some simple relationships. But does not work in at least 75% if the tests I tried. For example younger relatives reported as great uncles or great grand uncles.

Pretty much worthless.

Something went wrong....

First Time I tried it - crashed after entering great Grandmother vs great great grandmother
Waste of time

Could be a fantastic program

I tried this app today for the first time. I have a new cousin and we connect through my gg grandfather. After gg grandfather’s daughter failed, I typed out the words great great grandfather’s daughter. It told me that was an invalid entry. At the moment the creator obviously hasn’t through about the people you are likely to meet. What with DNA connecting us with 5th and 6th cousins this could be a fantastic program. However at the basic level the app is at now, many people can figure that one out themselves.

Some developers read their reviews, some don’t. To make sure they get the message, go to the developers website (usually shown in the app info) and leave a message there. I just did.

Great...but not quite awesome...yet

This app was exactly what I was looking for; however, my use is limited due to crashes. If the input is too complex, the app crash. I also noticed that I could not calculate anything past great grandfather. I gave this app 3 stars for those limits. Once/if the problem is fixed, the app is easily a 5 star

Fantastic app! I've learned so much about my family!

I never have to worry about not knowing someone at a family event again! What a great idea! Will definitely recommend to my family!
