What's New in HQPDcontrol v4

7.9.2+711

October 30, 2026

NEW • Shaper descriptions — the Shaper selector in the player settings now shows HQPlayer's own description below each shaper's name, and search matches descriptions too. IMPROVED • Consistent audio format labels across the app — album badges, the global filter, Library Health and Album Versions now use the same notation, such as "PCM 44.1/16/2", "PCM 96/24/2", "DSD64/2" or "DSD256/2". • Readable sample rates — the Rate selector in the player settings and the Now Playing screen show "44.1k", "48k", or "44.1k x64" and "48k x256" for DSD, instead of raw values. • Now Playing — the format line shows whether the source and the output are PCM or DSD, and it fits narrow screens without being cut off. • Hi-Res is now recognised the same way throughout the app, following the JEITA definition: 48 kHz/16-bit counts as standard resolution. • Updated subscription framework and dependencies for improved stability. FIXED • PCM recordings above 384 kHz (for example 705.6 or 768 kHz) are no longer treated as DSD in Library Health, the global filter and the Loudness Timeline.

Very welcome

hqpdcontrol is useful tool to control hq player. Since I mainly stream from Qobuz I wish this would be supported as well. Maybe soon ?

Works great

Unlike probably no one I use file names and directory structure to navigate my music library. I come across this tool as a great resource as one of the option the app provided is to navigate music using directory structure. It works great for me. I love it. Thank you for creating a great tool. One more addition, this tool is more reliable app than Roon app on my iPad. (I use Mac OSX software)

Like it a lot

This is a super useful addition to control HQP. Nice features and it’s getting even better over time. Pretty album browsing especially on a tablet. Recommended.

A great add-on to HQPlayer!

Lets me adjust HQPlayer settings on my iPad. The latest update made settings screen easier to find!

well done!

really well designed slick app that works completely trouble- and bug-free to control HQPlayer on my Mac. You can of course play albums, songs and create playlists but you can also change some basic HQPlayer settings (filters, modulators…) through the app - great!
