Too many steps to do simple things. Very basic and outdated.
App for MCA-66
This is probably one of the worst apps you can find on the iOS platform. It’s unfortunate because what it does is not particularly complex and app development is relatively inexpensive.
Solid app
I’ve used this version since it was released. There are a few things that would be nice to have added. But, it has been reliable and consistent in its current form.
The HTD solutions are super overall! (I have the MCA-66 with KC7 keypads).

Please modernize this App. Awesome hardware but app is so bad and outdated.

Works well for me
I recommended HTD to a friend and then saw the negative reviews here and so I thought I should share my experience. The app works well for my needs. I don’t have any issues connecting and love being able to easily control my zones and volumes from a simple and easy to use interface. I only wish that I could set some volume limits within the app settings that could be password protected. Whenever I have called HTD, I have received great support and always dealt with knowledgeable representatives.

HTD hardware is great. I’m very happy with the speakers and amps that I purchased. That said I went with HTD for the hardware, but also the app and advertised Alexa integration. There is no Alexa integration unless you have a hubitat hub, not helpful when I’m already on SmartThings. I bought the controller with the voice assistant input for this, so that was a waste of money and the power delay is so long, the voice assistant input is useless. As for the app, it’s simple but man it is glitchy. I can be right next to the controller and my router and the volume control is so unstable. It will jump to max volume and then freeze. This has happened many times. I really need the app to work because I don’t want to install the control panels all over my house. Please fix you app, and build the Alexa integration that you advertised.

Hit and miss connection
You never know when this will connect or not to the system, it’s always a hit and miss, sometimes it just sits there in the finding a system page for ever and never connects, and yes I know you must be in the same wifi network as the system.
PLEASE FIX: New update doesn’t support dark mode on the iOS
This is 1 star for the most recent update. My select a source menu that you scroll through to choose source is completely white now and it’s very hard to see the options. Please fix

Very well designed app, the groups, presets, and shortcuts are all really nice.
I thought the app would stream from my phone directly to the MC-66 via Wi-Fi, but it relies on another device like a audio cast, Bluetooth receiver, or some other input.
Overall of all the things I looked at this was the only really good alternative to some custom system that was going to be a lot more.

Really like the new app
Have been using the Home Valet app for a couple years. Worked well, but was hard to reconnect after power failures, and not always easy to navigate.
The new app connected quickly and easily. Have been really happy with the upgrades, and is much easier to use. Only been a couple days, but thumbs up so far!
