I’ve been using the apps from this developer for two years now and I simply can’t emphasize enough how great they are.
This one in particular is a blessing - whenever me and my family get together to celebrate the holidays, we always love playing with the app features and we have such special moments.
I definitely recommend it! Well worth the purchase, and their customer service is out of this world! Some developers abandon their apps, but this team is reliable and willing to help! 5 stars!

This app should be free!
Needs update to sync with Apple Music, who downloads to iTunes in 2020?
Music does not work
The sounds and the background tones are fun for 5 min. But eventually you’ll want to be able to play a song from apple music with the lights. It states that the app is capable of doing this however this is 99% false. You can occasionally find one song amongst the millions that will play through the app with the lights. However this is purely random and has nothing to do with whether the music is downloaded to your phone or not. Not worth any money. It should be a free app.

Awsome Christmas app
This is brilliant, loads of different songs carols fireworks, Syncs really well, only have a few lights but will be amazing with allot of lights in the same room or inside or outside Collection of lights
Works with color and white bulbs - I have Philips hue lights.

Great app but could be so much more
I’ve had this app for about 19 months brought in a pack with the fire works, Halloween, football etc I have also brought the thunder app as well.
They all work really well and no functional issues
So why 3 stars? The apps really need to have more additional buttons added. Unfortunately the app developer is determined to add new apps rather than upgrade what they have, for my money I would rather have 1 app with in app purchases to add different sections, Christmas scenes, Christmas music, fireworks, Halloween, football, disco, from here you could create a favourite folder of all the best effects you want to use.
Another lacking area is the ability to set a timer to program effects or bring a chain of them together.
If they were to do this then I think this could go from a novelty app to an essential for every hue owner.

Struggles to control all lights and poor Bluetooth control
I have 12 hue spots in the kitchen and the app cannot control all of them. Often there are several that don’t connect and remain in the white state. If I isolate 4 lights only 3 change colour. With audio running via Bluetooth to Bose soundlink there is a lot of buffering to the point of it being useless. We have top rated WiFi at home so I don’t think that’s an issue and the buffering doesn’t change if device is next to speaker. I wish I hadn’t bought it.

Ich bin echt enttäuscht. Die Halloweenapp vom selben Entwickler ist ganz gut gemacht, ich hatte angenommen, die Weihnachtsapp würde nach dem selben Prinzip funktionieren.
Sobald ein Effekt abgespielt wird, blinken die Lampen zwar mehr oder weniger passend, ist der Effekt aber zuende, wird nicht zur vorherigen Lichteinstellung zurückgewechselt, sondern die Lampen bleiben in der Farbe des Effekts (was zu verkraften wäre) aber die App regelt zu allem Überfluss die Helligkeit aller beteiligten Lampen auf 4% runter und man sitzt im Dunkeln. Eine Lichtgrundeinstellung scheint es nicht zu geben. Was soll das denn? Verstehe den Sinn dahinter überhaupt nicht. 😒 So jedenfalls nicht zu gebrauchen.
Moods dazu laufen zu lassen schafft keine Abhilfe. Dann flackern alle Lampen ununterbrochen völlig wahllos in allen möglichen Farben vor sich hin. Das ist weder gemütlich noch stimmungsvoll. Eher Disco.
Was auch nicht funktioniert, ist die Lautstärkeeinstellungen. Die Musik aus der eigenen Bib ist grundsätzlich lauter als die Effekte, auch wenn der Regler auf Anschlag ist. Die mitgelieferten Moods sind leider komplett unbrauchbar. Sind von billiger Qualität, nicht aufeinander abgestimmt und werden auch nicht überblendet. Alles vermischt sich zu einer unerträglichen Kakophonie. 😩
Wie man da überhaupt mehr als einen Stern geben kann, ist mir unbegreiflich. Leider ist der Rückgabezeitraum schon abgelaufen. 🙄

App hat sich toll weiterentwickelt
Mag sein, dass die App vor 4 Jahren noch „in den Kinderschuhen“ steckte - jetzt bin ich auf alle Fälle begeistert. Die Christmas Carols laufen lange und es sind genügend vorhanden. Wem das nicht reicht: Die App greift auch auf Eure iTunes-Bibliothek zu, wenn ihr das gestattet. Somit können individuell Songs abgespielt werden. Die Effekte zum Einstreuen (HoHoHo, Merry XMas usw) laufen zusätzlich, wenn man soe betätigt. Ein Abspielen des Sounds / dee Musik ist auch auf Airplay-fähigen Geräten möglich. Hier bei mir getestet auf dem HomePod und auf Airport-Express. Die App ist lediglich noch nicht Airplay2-fähig. Wenn ich aber sehe, welchen Sprung die App gemacht hat und das der Entwickler daran arbeitet, klappt auch das sicher bald.
Die Lichtsteuerung ist bei mir einwandfrei und ohne zeitliche Verzögerung. Kein Delay zur Musik - auch nicht wenn ich iTunes-Songs laufen lasse. Eine Wunschansteuerung der Lampen ist möglich (welches Equipment darf mitlaufen, welche Lampen bleiben aus), jedoch ist keine Kontrolle der Farbgebung möglich. Ist jedoch völlig in Ordnung. Ich will ja überrascht werden :-)
Fazit: Sein Geld wert! Ich behalte die App und sie hat uns abends schon Stimmung gezaubert!!!

Hue Halloween - brilliant. Hue Christmas - let’s just say I won’t be using it again next year.
Lack of competition
I bought this even with the 2.7 stars because I was excited about my new lights and wanted to show off what it can do. And as of 15min ago they released an update to version 3.0. (Over a year since the last release) So betting that it must be better with a new update and hoping something would work, I bought the app. All I can say is if there was some competition any would be better than this. Maybe this company would ramp up their game.
Im telling you now. This is NOT worth the $2 for the app and another $2 for the in app purchases!

No Christmas Colors
27 options to choose from, even the extra pack, and not a single one that rotates through just Christmas colors red and green?

This app is a scam from a company that charges you $ for a feature-less app then you find out they want 10x more $ just to use it. No updates in years.. DO NOT BUY
Not what I expected
You basically pay for cheap-sounding holiday soundtracks and it changes your hue light bulbs to ALL of the colors in the rainbow. I was hoping it would alternate just Christmas colors (green red white). Not happy for what I paid for. You can get any of the free apps and get the same effect and just play music off spotify.

Loved this app until they decided to add more to it then except me to pay for it. I wish that when I paid for it I got everything but you don’t!
