Easy and Fun!

Convenient app and fun to use, especially love the sliding scale options!

App was great, when it worked

In the beginning, the app was amazing. Now whether I upload a photo or use the photo option in the app, they give me colors that have nothing to do with the items in the picture every time. It’s now just an app wasting space on my phone. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Worked at first

This was a great app when I first got it, but now when I tap on the photo to scan it, it puts the incorrect color. Ex: red dress should pop up red, but the color pops up a pastel blue. Why????

Just doesn’t work

No matter how much I crop the pictures to swatch a particular color it still gets it wrong. I have a teal coloured t shirt and the colour selected only shows every colour except teal. Super poor colour matching.

New to colour analysis

The app has been great to work out what colour for clothes is best for me.

I was told I’m both a deep (dark) winter and a true summer, however I can only select one as a favourite. Being able to select two would be a good feature.

Will continue to use the app though. Saves me from wasting money on other clothes.

Helpful

Very useful app for finding whether something is in your season. Has a few bugs. But developer is very helpful and addressed quickly. With a workaround it’s a great app. Affordable too

Wrong

This app is incorrect every time. I took pictures of my color fan given to my by my professional color analysis and this app categorized every one wrong.

App doesn’t work

Paid $3 for this app only for a pop up message to immediately come up that won’t close. Useless.

Not accurate

I took pictures in cool lighting with my true summer fan and it kept coming up every warm season instead of true summer…..the generic response that was placed on my review was gibberish and had nothing to do with my complaint. Only one of the photos I took of my true summer fan said true summer. Its not a subjective situation. Your app doesn’t work.

Take it shopping

It’s great to use as a shopping aide. So cool how it can identify and sort colors accurately just by touching on a photo.

Good user interface

Easy and intuitive to use

Not accurate

I took pictures in cool lighting with my true summer fan and it kept coming up every warm season instead of true summer

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Hue IQ didn’t meet your expectations. While we strive for accuracy, we understand that color analysis can be subjective and the app might not be right 100% of the time. If one of the app's predictions feels off to you, you’re probably right. You know yourself best. We feel confident in our model, but at the end of the day, it’s built on statistical patterns, and we fully anticipate that sometimes its predictions won't align with expectations. Personal experiences and preferences around color seasons will inevitably vary a lot. That’s why we provide detailed information on warmth/coolness, darkness/lightness, and softness/brightness, so you can use that data to make decisions that feel right for you. Great Idea, Not Fully Executed

This app is a great idea and I like how it gives you a breakdown on chroma, hue, and saturation. However, it only gives you one or two options that don’t really make sense sometimes. If a scan a light gray, why is bright winter the first one that comes up? Why do the sliders of the lavender color say it’s almost 100% cool but it’s a spring shade and nothing else? I wish this app showed all the palettes each color is compatible with, maybe with a percentage. For example, this color is most compatible with light summer, but can also work with cool summer, bright winter, etc. I think it would be cool if the sliding color scales were adjustable to really understand what needs to change to make a color work for your season. Again, really cool idea for an app, but it’s not super useful as it is right now.

your seasonal BFF especially for online shopping

i know what color season i am after a mild deep dive sometime last year, but sometimes it’s hard to keep track of what colors are best, and HueIQ makes it so, so simple.

you can take pictures of anything wherever you are, and it will tell you the season of any color that you select in that photo. but even better, you can upload photos which means you can see if the clothes you are buying online are in your season which takes out so much squinting at my screen— the app does the work!

on top of that, it tells you how warm/cool the color is, how deep/light the color is and how deep/bright the color is which is really cool because i don’t have a great eye for that kind of thing on my own, and it’s helpful! i feel like i’m learning and already see this helping me pick out my next shade of lipstick or seeing if i actually even own any summer nail polish colors.

Finally!

HueIQ is the first color analysis app I've used that is actually practical. The color season categorizations seem super accurate. I thought I was starting to develop the eye for identifying colors in my season, but the app is even better, which is exactly what I need in order to shop online and know a color is going to work. The alternative of trying to match clothes to colors in premade palettes for my season is just too much work, this is much easier. The developers clearly know what they're doing—this app is a must-have. Bonus: I already know what my color season is and the app's quiz got it right! Well worth the money. Minor wish: I’d love to see an option to edit saved palettes in the future, but overall, this app is fantastic!

Thank you for the feedback! I’m really glad you’re enjoying it. We’re working on better palette editing, and that will be coming in the next update.
