About
You speak. Hum writes it up.
Hum is a voice-notes app that does the work after you stop talking. Record naturally, and Hum transcribes it on-device and turns it into a clean, short Summary — an overview, the key points, decisions and action items — that you can actually read, search, and share. No cloud. No account.
Everything happens on your iPhone — Hum has no servers and never receives your audio, and your recordings live in your own encrypted iPhone backup so a lost phone doesn't lose them.
AI SUMMARY
Every recording gets a short Summary — an overview, the key points, decisions and action items — written on your iPhone. Open a recording and the Summary writes itself. (Requires iPhone 15 Pro or newer.)
ACTION ITEMS → REMINDERS
When your Summary contains action items, add them straight to Apple Reminders in one tap — "Sarah to send the deck" becomes a real reminder. Copy the whole Summary to paste anywhere, too.
ON-DEVICE TRANSCRIPTION
Hum transcribes locally on your iPhone — your audio is never uploaded. English uses an enhanced on-device model that is especially strong on meetings and voices across a room; other languages use Apple's on-device speech engine. Tap anywhere in the transcript to jump straight to that moment in the audio.
CHAT WITH YOUR RECORDING
Ask a recording anything — "what were the action items?", "what did we decide?" — and get answers grounded in the transcript, on-device. (iPhone 15 Pro or newer.)
EMAIL & SHARE
One tap opens your mail app with the Summary ready to send — subject, notes, done. Copy them, add action items to Reminders, or export the lot.
KNOWS WHO'S TALKING
Multi-speaker recordings get speaker labels for clear conversations. Rename "Speaker 1" to "Sarah" and the whole transcript updates.
LIBRARY SEARCH
Semantic + keyword search across every transcript. Find an idea from last Tuesday in seconds.
FOLDERS, FAVOURITES, TRIM, EXPORT
Organise into folders. Star the important ones. Trim audio with a waveform editor. Export to Markdown, Apple Notes, Obsidian, or Drafts.
QUICK CAPTURE
Add Hum to your Lock Screen, Action Button, or Spotlight to start recording in a single tap.
HOW HUM HEARS
Hum records through your microphone — perfect for in-person conversations, interviews, and dictation. For a Zoom, Teams, or phone call, put it on speakerphone so the mic can hear the room. Hum is not a meeting bot: it does not join your calls or tap into another app's audio, so a call taken on a headset captures only your side.
