WHAT WE CHECK • Head size — not too big, not too small for the frame • Centring — face in the middle • Head tilt — looking straight at the camera • Top of head fully visible — no clipping at the crown • Lighting — bright enough, not too dark • Shadows — even on both sides of the face • Background — plain and the right colour • Sharpness — no blur • Resolution — high enough for print • Eyes open • Mouth closed • Glasses — most countries don't allow them (with a parent override for Child Mode) • Red-eye KIDS' PHOTOS Child Mode loosens the rules for under-10s — closed eyes and small smiles are OK for infants. The app tells you what's allowed in each country. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE Your photo, your face, everything stays on the device. We don't have servers that could see your photo even if we wanted to. The only thing we collect is anonymous crash reports so we can fix bugs. CHANGE THE BACKGROUND Standing against a plain wall? Pay only when you want to download — $4.99 for 3 photos (or $1.99 in lower-income countries). One-time, no subscription. If the photo doesn't pass, you don't pay. — PicPass isn't a government agency. Our checks make rejection much less likely, but we can't promise the passport office will accept your photo — always double-check with your local office before submitting.
