About
Photograph your meal and Hunger estimates the calories, protein, carbs and fat — then puts the plate in a feed of what everyone else is eating. Free, with no subscription: the camera is not behind a paywall.
SNAP IT OR TYPE IT
• Photograph the plate, or describe it in a line: "two slices of pizza and a coke".
• Catch up from the camera roll: up to ten photos at once, each placed at the time it was taken.
• The meal is saved the moment you take the photo. The estimate fills in while you eat.
THE FEED
• New meals are shared under a username you pick, for other people to serve or pass.
• Keep any meal out of it with one tap, or turn sharing off entirely.
• Before your first plate goes up, Hunger shows you exactly how it will appear.
• Report any post, block any person.
AN ESTIMATE, NOT A VERDICT
• Every item, portion and number can be corrected, and corrections are saved as you make them.
• Search reference foods to add an item by hand.
• On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence the plate is read on the device, the photo never leaves it, and there is no limit at all. Other/older iPhones send it to be estimated, with a daily ceiling high enough that ordinary days never reach it.
YOUR WEEK, NOT JUST YOUR DAY
• Calories and macros for today against your goal.
• Seven days on one chart, with the weekly average called out.
• On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, an optional weekly summary written on the device: one or two sentences of plain observation.
• No streaks, no red, no scolding.
GOALS AND APPLE HEALTH
• Set daily calories and pick a macro split.
• Count active energy and workouts from Apple Health, with your permission.
• Save meals back to Health if you want to.
• Reminders around the times you usually eat, and for the glasses of water still owed.
WHAT STAYS YOURS
• Your log, your photos and your goals live on your iPhone and in your own iCloud.
• Health figures never leave the device.
• Browse without an account. Sign in with Apple only to add meals, and Hunger asks for no name or email.
• No ads, no tracking, no analytics SDKs.
Hunger estimates. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and its numbers can be wrong by a wide margin.
