Just ok…..
The app is ok. A bit clunky. I never in a million years thought I would say this, but GIA needs to look at what OCP does. They sell you a locked PDF. You can open the PDF in Apple Books or any other PDF app. It has clickable links in the file to go to songs from the index it back to the index. Its way more simpler and easy to use. You can easily bookmark with a regular PDF file, this gets a bit clunky creating a service file. GIA - please take a look at what OCP did, and there will be no reason to maintain a clunky, poorly written app.

UI covers chords titles
This was an issue in the previous version that was apparently not fixed. The navigation bars at the top and bottom of the screen will sometimes cover chords or elements of the music, and there’s no way to make it the UI disappear or make the music be fullscreen. This seems like a pretty big oversight.

Can’t go back to the beginning
Where is the first page button? I can only play one time through unless the intent is to copy it out for every verse. Other than that it seems ok
No Improvement
Would love to get our choir using this but the app is just unusable. Have been on Hymnal 1 and was looking for a more modern app. This looks the part until you open your first song and find that it cuts off the top of almost every song. They look right in the thumbnails in the store but my restored Gather Comprehensive 2 has the top treble clef cut off on most songs.

Hymnal 2 app - freezes up
I hoped that upgrading to the Hymnal 2 app would help bring about a smooth way to use my iPad for masses. At first the app looked great and everything worked fine. However, in the middle of mass, I suddenly could not access the search button to find a song. That tool bar just wouldn’t come up. I was totally at a loss and had to revert to physical books. This happened on multiple days - with WiFi working just fine. Not acceptable at all. Very disappointed.
