Great Lighting, Atrocious App
I love all my Hyper products. I have cubes, little cubes, mirrors and god only knows what else. Great products.
Then theirs is absolutely useless app. If you unplug a device to move it or maybe you had a power failure, you’re screwed. You have to resync your devices from the ground up. The app just forgets about your products.
Obtuse user interface, buggy, saving mode that forgets its settings the next day, preset names that mean nothing. This app is so lousy it makes your phone smell like a wet dog.
For God’s sake, someone fix this thing.

Barebones and featureless app
App could’ve easily been created by a 5 year old using AI and still would’ve had better features. No widget support, no shortcuts. Super barebones and underdeveloped. At least make some applets on IFTTT so we can sync it to streamdeck.

Device broke after a year due to bad firmware
No ability to set start up mode
Doesn’t connect. Also can’t set up sound reactive as default mode when my pyramid powers on (smart plug). Zero Alexa or smart home capabilities
App not Supported
The hyper cube is really great, but I can’t say so much for the app. I’ve had my hyper cubes for about four years now, and the app gets progressively worse. It’s almost impossible to connect the apps to the hyper cubes. I have to try multiple times. I’ve written to the company multiple times on their Support page and the response is always the same, we’re getting around to it. When a cube is connected, it only retains that connection for some days and then it goes off-line and you have to go back through the process all over again. It’s disgusting that people can make a really great product, but they’re only interested making their money and not keeping up with their customers. So, if you want a great looking hyper cube, get it. But if you’re hoping to sync it to your music, make all sorts of different patterns and utilize the app, you’ll just be filled with frustration.

Worst app I have ever used . Can’t connect to WiFi for the life of me
App never work
The cube never connect to my phone I have the right wifi set up and they have little info for help. Cool product bad support and app system.

If you’re the type of person who reads reviews before you buy a product, congratulations! You are a wise shopper. Now run far, far away from Hyperspace. Do not buy. The products rely on an app plagued with reliability issues. By taking the time to read this review and turning away now, you will have saved yourself hours of frustration and plenty of money. No connection
App would simply not connect to the cube no matter how many times I tried
Faulty app
The app will no longer connect to my wifi therefore I only can use the one button switch that barely accesses any of the cool features. Fix this app. You have people spending 300 dollars to be met with nothing but frustration.
Works perfectly, lots of controls
The app is fantastic. I was disheartened when seeing the reviews for it, loved my hyper cube but thought maybe they skimped on the app and it would be a source of futile frustration to try and use. Waited a few days to even mess with it. But much to my surprise and delight, upon doing so it connected very easily for me, and had a host of useful controls. Everything I could really want is in there. Don’t know what people are so dissatisfied with. The cube is fantastic even without an app, the button lets you do most of what you need to enjoy it. But sometimes it is nice to go in and get a little finicky with it. I actually really appreciate the efficiency of the app, I think it must be very well coded because it opens quickly and you can immediately adjust the brightness or power it off. Or you can go further in and access all of the granular controls. It’s super snappy and very straightforward, not much of a learning curve to speak of. Makes me wish other apps on my phone and elsewhere in life were so well executed, almost everything else I click on requires long loading screens and needs to refresh every time it’s opened, whether I want to or not. This app has zero bloat, and feels just as well fought out as the cube itself. So thank you guys for the quality hardware and software.

Love my cube!
No issues with the app. Maybe the issues people talk about are on an older version? Connection works great, as long as I’m on WiFi. Hopefully in the future they can add a feature that connects Bluetooth so that it can use the direct stream of audio from my music player so it doesn’t need to rely solely on microphone input for the sound effects. Having great fun looking at it and exploring the different modes. 😎🤩😵💫🫠

The most frustrating app experience
I have a wide collection of smart lights surrounding my desk gaming setup and all work brilliantly and connect without hassle. This cube is easily more than double the price of any of these lights which include brands such as kasa and govee and has a basically non functional app. Despite following the directions closely it is impossible to get this thing connected. The cube itself is nice, but without the app to control the colors and patterns it’s basically worthless. Just buy a nice govee light instead.

Awesome device
The product alone is worth it 100%. Seems like they have fixed a lot of issues I had no problems at all. To help with the progression of the app would be helpful if they had a suggestion section in the app. Would be helpful to see what pattern is currently active is my only small gripe. Absolutely love this device and app

Terrible
You spend three hundred bucks on a cool toy sure to be this hot of your next party, and after you set everything up and turn it on, you find out the WiFi connection on the Hypercube is garbage.
I did manage to get it working for a few minutes by moving to a 2.4hz only network which seemed to help. Fine it’s not the worst workaround.
But AS I WAS USING THE APP the Hypercube’s wifi lost connection and now the app WILL NOT connect.
In my career I’ve been a mobile app tester, network engineer, and a QA tester.
I can safely say with all confidence, this app and/or the wifi implementation on the hardware is broken, and this company doesn’t seem to know how to fix it.
Maybe their network devs left the company? It shouldn’t matter to consumers since this can be fixed with a few weeks of consulting engineers to fix whatever is broken.
The Hypercube itself is nice but without the “control” we were promised in the fancy marketing material, this should be half the price as you are at the mercy of an ever changing set of colors and patterns, most of which are meh.

Appalling
I use that word for the obvious reason the app is the weak Link in the Hyper Space experience.
And since the connection allows you to do everything with the Hyper Space that you would like to do, it kind of defeats the purpose to not be able to connect it.
That's why I titled this review "appalling" because it seems appalling to me that anybody would let this slide.
I have tried all the updates, but it still comes down to the app not being able to connect with 5G.
what's extremely frustrating is that I have seen the option to connect manually, pop up while using the app in an attempt to connect it. but I could count on one hand the amount of times that's happened. none of them have been by choice. They've all occurred through happenstance. Therefore very difficult to repeat because I don't even know how it happened in the first place.
This is also compounded by the fact that your selections for the cube are on a timer, when chosen from the box with the blue button. so even if you do land on a setting that you like, it's only gonna last for a very limited time. it's just really awkward and appalling.

Won’t stay connected
The product is good but the app that runs it is crap. It will not stay connected, so there’s no way to control the HyperCube. You cannot even turn it off and on.
Fix your app so I can actually use it
Never can connect on the app and when I do I have to go back to the app cause a setting resets if you aren’t on it 24/7 and if I close the app forgetting I had that on it will make it hard to re connect
