What's New in Hzera

3.0

September 29, 2026

Thank you to everyone of you who sent in your feedback and requests to our team. You're the best! Hzera 3.0 brings your notch to everyday listening and helps you see what changes. - A true band notch: a new Band shape removes the whole selected band, at least 40 dB deep from edge to edge, instead of a dip that is only deep at one frequency, with a 1-octave default matching the published notched-music studies. Your therapy sounds exactly as before after updating: existing notches stay on the Classic shape until you choose Band in Notch Settings. - Listen tab: follow podcasts and play internet radio with your notch applied live, free for 60 minutes a day and unlimited with Premium. Streams that can't pass through the notch are never played un-notched. Listening time counts toward your daily goal. - Notch Your Mac: on macOS, remove your tinnitus band from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and calls, for all audio or just the apps you choose. Audio is processed live and never recorded. - Daily check-in: rate loudness and bother in ten seconds and see them charted next to your listening time. - Report for your clinician: a one-page PDF of your pitch match, hearing screen, ratings, and listening to share with an audiologist or ENT. - Quiet Mind Course: six weeks of short lessons and guided practices (breathing, relaxation, attention training, thought records, sleep) built on cognitive behavioral therapy, the approach guidelines most consistently recommend for tinnitus distress. The first two lessons are free. - Your hearing from Apple Health: connect a calibrated hearing test (such as the Hearing Test on AirPods Pro) to see your audiogram with your tinnitus pitch marked, balance pitch-matching and CR tones, and optionally compensate for reduced hearing. - Coordinated Reset adds an updated pattern that follows the published tone spacing and 3-on, 2-off rhythm, with each tone balanced for loudness. Existing users keep the Classic pattern until they switch it off in the CR card. - Assessment history charts, a monthly re-check reminder, and a full data backup and restore. - Fixes: rapid taps can no longer skip an impact question, and Apply to My Therapy now respects per-ear calibration. - Ideas or problems? Write to team@hzera.com. We read everything!

Brown noise cut out

The app seems good so far - just started today. The issue is the brown noise file for the notched therapy cuts out briefly several times. That makes it not a sleep noise option.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to report this. You were absolutely right: Brown Noise should remain uninterrupted, especially when used for sleep. We traced the issue to the audio loop and fixed it in version 2.4. We also reviewed all 24 built-in soundscapes, including Pink and White Noise, Heavy Rain, and Forest, to ensure smooth, continuous playback during long and background sessions. We appreciate you helping us improve Hzera so early in your experience. If you ever notice anything else, please contact us at support@hzera.com - we’re always happy to help!

FAQ

How does Hzera work to relieve tinnitus?

Hzera uses two primary methods: Notch Sound Therapy, which removes your tinnitus frequency from audio to reduce neural activity, and Coordinated Reset (CR) Neuromodulation, which disrupts synchronized neural firing patterns. Both are based on peer-reviewed neuroscience research.

How do I calibrate Hzera to my tinnitus?

Hzera offers two calibration methods: a slider for fine-tuning in 5 Hz increments, or a sweep calibration where you tap pause when you hear your tinnitus pitch. Volume matching then calibrates the therapy to your perception level, taking just a few minutes.

Can I use my own audio with Hzera?

Yes, premium users can import their own DRM-free audio files (MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, AIFF, CAF) to use as therapy soundscapes. The app automatically normalizes volume and applies notch filtering.

Does Hzera have ads?

No, Hzera is ad-free. The app is designed for a focused, distraction-free experience, and all data stays on your device.

What devices does Hzera support?

Hzera is available for iPhone and iPad devices. It works entirely offline after installation.

What is the age rating for Hzera?

Hzera has an age rating of 12+. This is suitable for a wide range of users seeking tinnitus relief.

How often is Hzera updated?

The latest version of Hzera is 1.7, last updated on April 16, 2026. Updates typically include improvements to therapy algorithms and user experience.

Is Hzera free to use?

Hzera offers free features including full frequency calibration. Additional features and customization options are available through in-app purchases for premium users.
