2026, Still works for me

Not sure how I'm lucking out but it works for me thankfully. I did do a factory reset on the receiver and a full setup. I can also connect through the IP address on my browser when on the same network

buggy and constant fail

Oct 2025, very last day, they made sure to wreck/end any ability to control the Pioneer of mine.
The app worked the day before ON ALL THE MACHINES I installed this app on.
Then on the last day, NONE of them worked... didnt see the amp.
All the Airplay and BT wireless features work still, but refuses to show the amp on the same network now.

Sick fail

so, DEAD ENDED IN 2025?

Yup. On a couple machines that worked this app fine just days ago. Deleted app, rebooted, tried diff freq. on my wireless, NONE REACH IT NOW.

yes yes yes did all the typical “do this” garbage and none “sees” the pioneer now, DO NOT WASTE MY TIME BLAMING ME like is usual of trolls and “companies”, Pioneer doesn’t support this app for ages and officially wants it dead, same way they torched Internet Radio sections my model has, several years ago

Won’t waste time typing my model, I bet this touchy app FAILED EVERYONE ELSE TOO on Oct 30, 2025.

Too bad zero stars not eligible, its always been a PITA but is now Totally a PITA.

What about VSX 8080

I’ve used the AV app for years and it was awesome, but now the original app is no longer supported by Apple and the new app does not support older pioneer kit which still is awesome and still working. Sort it out pioneer. This worked perfectly before

Basic but big issues

Works for regular stuff, but going in settings (actually on inputs what’s separate) to set password is a mess!
So absolutely no protection, anybody can play on your online receiver if they know few things!
Can set password and after a while disappeared, just junk!
Also will show up also like ip address…
Sometimes is impossible to find the sc97 in your network, when showing it’s connected to your wifi…frustrating!
9.29.25 after last update the app crashes right away…just junk!

Horrible

If you need to use this app, you’re not going to be happy about it.

I don’t like it

Got B47110 error and fixed it by turning on “Incoming ping” in my routers firewall settings Jan 2025

No more Pandora

Apparently the app no longer supports Pandora.

Just what I needed

This thing is absolutely what I needed. My AV receiver is a SC-1522 and it is tucked away behind my TV. The AV/remote uses IR, and with the TV in the way it is impossible to control the volume without standing in direct line of sight of the receiver. With this app, I can control the volume (and other features I haven’t yet explored) via WiFi instead of infrared.

Newer is not always better!

Since I recently purchased the sc-LX801 and I also have models:elite sc-95, sc-1223, vsx-824. They all work fine, but newer unit app has taken a step back from the sc-9x from last year. Ok, the list: no longer av scaler, just audio, the video is done all on auto. The eco modes are gone, no monitor status, mcacc color graphics no longer exist and vtuner was easier to use with better graphics and an expandable menu than tunein. There are a few more things I can't recall at this moment, but overall the app works! Supplemental: Please update for the older receivers that are still work must finish but the apps now unstable!

Pioneer VSX-830

I have a 2015 Pioneer VSX-830, and there some days were it dose not want to Connect, to the app and the some days that it will it is a good app if you don’t wanna go back and forth for the remote

Mr

Waste of time! No updates!

PLEASE UPDATE FOR iPHONE

This app worked great but no longer works for iPhone

Does not work

Will not connect to network. Not even if you manually enter the IP Address.

Error code B57113

Nobody updates the app anymore! Too bad it used to be good…I had it for one evening. In the morning I got the error code. Dont bother! Programmed obsolescence for you!😔😠

App just instantly crashes

Was working fine, until recently, soon as it sees the receiver, app just crashes.

App doesn’t open

The app won’t even open anymore. I don’t know why Apple doesn’t make developers remove apps that don’t work. I deleted the app and reloaded it. It still won’t open.

Using with Pioneer Elite SC-91 AVR

Purchased SC-91 in 3/2016. Yes, an older generation AVR. But, this iOS app (even though Pioneer no longer updates) continues providing iPhone (13 mini), basic audio volume controls & peripheral selection, from my couch as an iPhone alternative to the SC-91’s remote, which I also use. (SC-91’s network setup is set to DHCP & accommodates sending updated, IP address to my modem-switch LAN network when I’ve made modem-switch changes. This iOS app has recognized new IPs & has seamlessly kept the iOS app connected for SC-91 control.) My AppleTV 4K22 provides video & audio throughput via HDMI connection to the SC-91 AVR. My other HDMI connected peripherals (DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.) can also be selected through this iOS app. And, SC-91’s HDMI connect is enabling the HD video to my LG HDTV (principally setup as a monitor) while also enabling audio controls being sent to external, surround speakers. I give this legacy app 4 stars simply because, albeit with limitations, but when the AVR’s network setting is correctly setup, the iOS app remains functional.
I’ll add that the iPad version 4.4.0 works equally as well, but with larger screen. (iPad Pro 11” 4th gen. WiFi)
All devices updated with their respective OS.
