About
A quiet way to know what season it is, today.
Sekkicho is a reference app based on the traditional Japanese calendar of 24 solar terms (Nijūshi Sekki) and 72 micro-seasons (Shichijūni Kō).
■ Today
Open the app to see today's solar term and micro-season in large type, along with a short note on in-season foods and flowers.
■ 72 Micro-Seasons
All 72 micro-seasons, each spanning roughly five days, organized by the four seasons. Every entry includes:
・ Name (in Japanese, Chinese, and English)
・ A short explanation of its meaning
・ In-season foods
・ In-season flowers
■ 24 Solar Terms Reader
A short essay for each of the 24 solar terms, from Risshun (Beginning of Spring) onward, covering its origin and seasonal character.
■ Widgets
Show today's micro-season on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, with a ring of all 72 kō that shows where you are in the year.
■ Kō Change Notice (optional)
On the morning a new micro-season begins, get its name as a quiet notice. Notification permission is requested only if you turn this on, and notices are scheduled on your device, with no network requests.
■ Three Languages
Switch between Japanese, Chinese, and English at any time.
■ Quiet by Design
No ads. No account required. No usage data is collected and the app makes no network requests. All content is bundled, so it reads offline.
A small companion for noticing the seasons as they turn.
