What's New in Procreate Pocket

5.0.1

October 23, 2026

Great things come to those who wait. There's a fresh new look and so many features in Procreate Pocket 5, including brush libraries, Page Assist, and exciting hardware compatibility, that we better get into it. New Brushes There's over 150 new brushes in the Procreate Library created by our in-house Brush Developer Kyle T. Webster. It’s like being handed the keys to your own fully stocked art store; one that’s filled with brushes and styles that combine real-world familiarity with the endless possibilities of digital art. The beloved Classic brush library is still available by pinching inwards, or tapping ... and Show all libraries. Brush Search Find just the brush you need by swiping down in the brush library and start typing text or emoji. Brush Libraries Add another level of organisation to your brushes. Build collections of the brush sets you need for a project or art style. To access, create, edit, or share libraries, use the pinch gesture in the Brushes panel. Stroke Stabilisation Combine standard Stabilisation with Motion Filtering for ultra smooth and stable stroke creation. Set stabilisation app-wide, or apply to individual brushes in Brush Studio. Page Assist Ideal for creating storyboards, comics, books or use it as a sketchbook. Keep your focus on a single page or quickly flick through to where you need to be. Import PDFs and mark up your documents. Colour History Quickly jump back to your most recently used colours. Recent Brushes All of the brushes you've been using are now just a tap away. Plus you can pin your favorites so they’re always available. Brush Size Memory Save your chosen brush size or opacity by tapping + in the preview. Creatives, tattoo artists and inkers can now keep every line beautifully even and consistent as you save up to four size or opacity memories within any brush across paint, smudge and erase. Brush file management Sleep better at night by protecting your precious brush collection. Backup, organize and share them right in the Files app. Choose from storing your brushes On My iPhone or in iCloud Drive, and if you change your mind, you can move them later in the Actions menu. New Brush Studio settings Procreate Pocket brush settings are now fully compatible with iPad. You can remove anti-aliasing with alpha threshold; perfect for pixel art. We’ve also added more controls for spacing, shape roundness, stroke jitter, and per brush pressure curves. With the new Preview tab in Brush Studio, you can make further adjustments to how your brush thumbnails appear in the brush library. Colour Cards Name each swatch in your palette automatically by shade and colour, or customise the name by tapping on it. You can also turn on colour naming notifications in Settings for a description every time you pick a colour. So much more: - VoiceOver Support - Customisable onion skin colours - Feedback sounds - Dynamic brush scaling It's fabulous to see Procreate Pocket back to its former glory. Now go make something on the train with the new brushes #ProcreateArtist

5.0 is a joke

Procreate mobile was actually a fantastic piece of software for what I wanted to use it for but 5.0 update has genuinely just ruined everything. The ui, the way it feels and looks. It's obstructive. They removed key features, they made all the perfectly laid out menus clunky small and unclear. It's much less intuitive and as far as I can tell they literally removed the opacity slider for no reason on top of it all.

Having said that the old version is the best by far mobile app for drawing. I wish I could make my phone keep the previous version. It makes me want to switch platforms. I will say I commend it being a one time purchase even post being ruined

😞

please bring back the old layout or at least make it an option, this new one is so difficult

Great app but.

Look, I’ve been using procreate for the last 5 years, I was happy with the loadout and dark screen it was easy to navigate, but you took that away. I hate change as someone who’s autistic, now I can’t do art because of this change, I don’t even know where half of the tools are with this replacement loadout. The white screen strains my eyes and makes it less desirable to draw. Is there any way to bring back the old loadout?

你妈的更新个屁

我真他妈服了更新之后能用的要死有没有退回旧版本的功能啊

Very Disappointing Update.

The new update is just very very disappointing. I’ve been thrown off so badly I can’t even draw normally and I’m losing motivation. My whole grove was just ruined, I tried drawing tonight and now I don’t think I wanna even use the app anymore.

I’ve been using Pocket for years now. It was such a good app to have, the whole reason I got it was so I don’t have to carry a huge tablet around, originally pocket was supposed to be for doodles and sketches that I would draw out and then later do it on my tablet, but after some time it became my main drawing app and I completely ditched my tablet and regular Procreate! It was just so easy to have my phone there to just draw while I was on road trips/trips, etc etc.

The new UI feels too bulky and big. Like the brush sizing things on the left side stick out WAY too much. And then the easy access to layers and other things, now I have to keep pulling out the tool thing where my brushes and other stuff is and then proceeding to put it back bc it also sticks out to much and is too big in my opinion, it’s frustrating to keep doing that.

And let’s not forget the lag. It is horrible. I have never had any issues with lag, yeah maybe a few times here and there but it went away, but this just stays. There are just so many things that could have been left alone that were perfect you know?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this is just a very big let down, I thought I might have been overthinking it but I saw so many other people who feel the same as me.
