Does not extend your desktop. Don’t waste your money on this.

Well I have an iPad mini 2 lying around and this app was advertised as a solution to extend your desktop in your Mac. Unfortunately it doesn’t do that on my M1 MacBookPro. Only mirrors my monitor, which I do not need. I reached out to support and it’s non-existent. Do not waste your money on this.

Does what it says on the tin

Does exactly what it says on the tin. A very good alternate to Duet, who even for their most basic version, charge more for lifetime access than Microsoft do for Windows 11 Home.
Highly recommend this if you require a second screen. I was not expecting to be able to control the pointer on the iPad as well. A most welcome bonus. Thank you iDisplay for being sensible.

No longer works reliably

This software no longer works well and even the support options are not working to ask for help. Don’t purchase.

Absolutely Great

So I have been looking for some “second monitors” with my iPad and nothing worked (because it’s old) and then I found this and thought it was going to be the same, buy it, tried it and works fine! Lags a bit but that’s just because it’s old. I will using my other old iPad aswell on here. The only thing is it disconnects on my iPad every 3-5min after being inactive on it. Something I display could improve :)

FAQ

What does iDisplay do?

iDisplay transforms your iPad or iPhone into an additional touch-enabled display for your Mac or Windows computer. It allows you to extend your desktop or mirror your screen, providing more screen real estate for multitasking and using your favorite desktop applications directly on your iOS device.

How does iDisplay work?

You install the iDisplay Desktop application on your Mac or Windows computer and the iDisplay app on your iOS device. The two devices can then connect via a Lightning or 30-pin cable, or wirelessly over Wi-Fi. Once connected, your iOS device functions as a secondary display.

Is iDisplay free to use?

The iDisplay app itself is a paid application. However, the companion iDisplay Desktop application that needs to be installed on your computer is free to download from getidisplay.com.

What devices are compatible with iDisplay?

iDisplay is compatible with Macs running Mac OS X 10.9 and later, and Windows computers running Windows XP (32-bit only), Vista, 7, 8, and 10. Your iOS device can be an iPad, iPad Pro, iPhone, or iPod touch.

What are the main use cases for iDisplay?

iDisplay is ideal for multitaskers who need more screen space, professionals working with applications like Excel, Word, or Photoshop, and educators or presenters who want to mirror their desktop to an audience. It effectively doubles personal productivity by extending your computer's display.
